He is not op.

He is actually the complete oposite. Only true, dedicated mains like you can manage to play him well enough to actually win, but he is statistically failing right now.

He's statistically failing because nobody knows how to play him. Due to his popularity, or should I say, lack of, his optimal builds/playstyles aren't "out there" yet.

Wow, i literally forgot this champion was in the game and now i have a sudden urge to buy him and play him a lot

can you offer up some tips for builds and what not?

im also an aatrox main i can help you out

tips aatrox isnt a lane bully he can get bullied out the lane fairly easy if you arnt careful. his passive give him free attack speed and when its not on cooldown a free GA. managing your blood well is key to playing aatrox as hes a heavy AA reliant champ.

he suffers vs tanks while also being one himself (well sudo tank) and he falls off late game and hes very weak to CC heavy teams as most of his dmg come from auto attacks.

on the plus side he has the best substain in the game no runes or mastieries only a few other champs can come close to aatroxs substain with noticeable picks being Warwick Vladimir

hes also good at fighting assassins well if you build him with one or 2 tank items no assassin will be able to kill him before he heals back up.

Laning phase focus on farming and staying safe while poking your lane oppenet with your E. and keep track of the jungler also

his Q takes some getting use to (i only use mine after i e them or to get away as its his only gap closer with out flash).

Lane Bullies and general counters not to pick aatrox against Renekton , Darius , Fiora , Malphite Olaf

skill match ups when you have aatrox where it comes down to both of your skills. Nasus , Volibear , Gnar , Jayce , Teemo , Riven , Jax

also jsut anthor tip dont build full substain on aatrox it sounds good on paper but unless you know how to play him and know how to play him very well i wouldnt recommend trying that.

but the main way (atleast for me) is to build him like a brusier with a mix of dmg and tank.

his core items are item 3065 , item 3153 regardless cause those 2 items go so well with him.

well thats all my knowledge on him from back from season 4 to now

I'd wager the new item 3124 with the 'Sated Devourer' on-hit effect would become core on damage dealing oriented builds. So far I haven't seen other Aatrox players use it and admittedly it's terrible to build during laning phase because of its (intended) subpar buildpath.

its a ok item on aatrox but i wouldnt build it early unless your curb stomping the enemy

I disagree with core items. I say item 3074 item 3047 I also majorly disagree with darius and malphite being counterpicks to Aatrox. Darius is 90% win, malphite is ezpz because the best build (which is backline diver, passive dependent carry assassin) doesnt rely on atk speed.

well i build those 2 items anyway so yeah. Darius is a lane bully and a huge one that that plus aatrox has to stay in melee range to do dmg witch is a very bad idea vs a darius do to his passive bleed dmg and if he has summoner 14 then basicly your sustain is gone plus with new darius his Q heals him for missing health and early game aatrox sustain with his W at rank one is ok but its somewhat unrelieable unless you are able to farm up under tower. a good darius would wait till your passive to be on cd before he uses his ult and his E can stop your Q ( i have seen it and it has happend to me) and lets be honest here if aatrox falls behind he's shit true aatrox mains like ourselves can come back from it but for someone who is learning aatrox thats not going to be possable.

Malp is a counter pick to aatrox do to his attack speed slow and hes naturaly tanky and yeah you can build a burst high dps build for aatrox but atleast to me its unreliable and against a compant team or a CC heavy team comp you will get blown up and dont do shit as you dont have the tank to surive your all in or get CCed and blown the hell up while malp he can ult and boom team fight and or changing the team fight for his team and he survives do to being able to surive the enemy teams burst and keep fighting while aatrox if build with little to no tank items then you get blown up

No... Darius is easy if you max E, spam the shit out of it, get him down to about half and burst him down with item 3077 and auto attacks... Darius has no chance against Aatrox if hes consistently poking him with maxed E until hes low enough to kill.

i never said i dont max E actully i max E then W, than Q but if a darius is good he will just farm with Q and heal up if you are in melee range plus E is really easy to dodge if you know what your doing with darius .
