There was this one instance where I Like Things made a huge rant, some guy said name checks out and got 1000 upvotes

I Like Things 6 votes

My nickname is conduit.

Also I'd appreciate a link to said rant I made, rereading my material is pretty amusing.

Did you delete your account in the last 30 minutes or something? It is giving me the cannot find page message when I try to click your name to go to your boards profile.

Negative amigo, I'm right here, alive and well.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't even know that you could delete your account.

6 years around these parts and I'm still learning something new every day ... damn life. Damn.

overwatch is pretty well balanced it's just DotA type balance hard counter bro, it's why you can switch heroes mid game

EvilUnicornLord2 votes

It's not balanced compared to other games of it's type. Mainly TF2, because it's not hard balancing 9 guys.

General Theritt6 votes

TF2 has a ridiculous amount of imbalance. Not every weapon is good, and some items alone are just negated entirely. Overwatch does the same thing, but they rely more on character counter focus and reliance on you "knowing what you're doing" and making the right pick, or responding rapidly rather than ramming yourself into a brick wall. Not only that, while not all characters are great, almost all of them see play, League doesn't do that (essentially <40 characters see competitive play multiple times over in major tournaments), and TF2 rewards play on 1 character, usually resulting in that your team may NEVER need a healer because you can just curbstomp someone with a good weapon and sub-par reaction time because you managed to "rocket-jump" (Something that isn't even TAUGHT to players). Every new kid on the block is dead if he's not aware how to counter it in TF2, where as countering characters in overwatch is very important, and teamwork is essential.

Also to note, Overwatch is a moba-hybrid. You cant win the game by killing people. TF2 DOES that, and can quickly become imbalanced because the game (unless its a specific mode but its almost always TDM) teeters on a heavy ALWAYS tanking shots. Widow can't attack a character behind a giant ass shield, HP or not, but heavy can be dropped in about 1-2 hits from a half-decent sniper, and that sniper can try and eventually camp opponent spawn and chokepoint unfairly.

Coming from who you? I've attained Diamond in both games. I quit League not because of imbalance though, because the community is garbage and the Dynamic Q system is extremely worse than Overwatch in terms of FPS is a more friendly Dynamic Q system than MOBAS.

The game literally has a quarter of the toxicity that I've seen in League.

I've played League for 4 years, I used to average 5-6 games a day. I now play for an amateur Overwatch team and maybe play 3 games per 6 months in League.

Also, it's not just me saying this, all my friends have moved on from League and play other games. Not even that but every single website in the world would rank League as the most toxic video game in the history of gaming.

you realize this is in M&G right?

  1. Overwatch is easy, I got to 70 basically in my sleep over 1 weekend.
  2. Why are you on the boards for League when your fancy new OW career is taking off?
xXMrPeanutXx1 votes
  1. Let's compare our Overwatch stats then shall we? Or wait you're just some kid making shit up, without any real validation or concrete evidence

  2. Playing on an Amateur team is not a "career" it's a hobby. I actually went to school for my Career and guess what, had to provide EVIDENCE of my accomplishments, I couldn't just say. "I have a PHD, it was easy, I basically slept through the entire process" in the interview. You should learn to do the same.

LXII1 votes

How would comparing our stats help your argument at all? I never said I was better than you at Overwatch, (probably am though), just that it's easy and I hit 70 with little to no effort.

Getting a little defensive for nothing there coach. Also, you never answered why you're still on our boards if you're a bigshot on OW now.

xXMrPeanutXx1 votes

Ok, let me make it simple for you there bud

I find getting Challenger in League extremely easy. I got it over the weekend, half asleep.

Do you see how this blanket statement is nothing but pure ignorant and garbage and doesn't actually prove anything without providing any evidence?

I'm saying I don't fucking a word you say because you're straight up talking out of your ass.

LXII1 votes

That's not what a "blanket statement" is, and you STILL haven't answered why you're here. lol

Straight up.

The entirety of like... seven years or so of WoW I've never wanted to strangle anyone.

It is straight up daily if not every other game in League.

Fuck I'll use the last two games I had within two hours as an example.

I had a Blitz that didn't like the way one team fight turned out who then ran it down mid feeding over and over. Cool, I got demoted because you're a piece of shit, lovely.

The next game I had a Heimer vehemently disagree with our ADC and he then just sat top lane while five people barreled down mid and we lost the game.

This game's community is pure cancer. I'm not even going to begin to say I'm the nicest guy because I am CERTAINLY not but god damn it I've never thrown a fucking game to inconvenience four other people because I'm a god damn toddler with a thorn in my ass.

They are delusional. You know the type of people who look 2 + 2 in the eye and say it's 5. They aren't fooling anyone. Everyone knows League is by far the most toxic game on the internet. That's why they struggle getting new players in.

Overwatch has overtaken League in Korean Cafe, that's not up for debate, that's fact.

They have a faster growth than League.

15 million people in the first 2 month. Mind you FAR FAR less "smurfs" because it cost 70$ per smurf account. Where as half of League's population is the same old permabanned players on different accounts. I even have multiple accounts myself though I don't even use them.

These type of people don't want to argue facts, the most ignorant of human beings, they just want to argue flimsy hearsay fallacies till the cows come home.

That's why Riot said "Active" accounts when saying 100 million players. Active, as in played in the last month...

General Esdeath 6 votes

Balance in OW isn't as much of a problem as League since everyone is unlocked and can be played at any time. It's more about strategy.

Also I'm too fat for gymnastics :(

Weiner the Pooh2 votes

So you really like OW's rock paper scissor counter system? In league, any champion, played well, can find relative success vs most champs, in OW, if they pick something that counters you, you're fucked. For example, In league say you pick Fiora, they pick Panth, you can still win, tho it'll be difficult. In OW say you're Genji or Widowmaker, they pick Winston, the only thing you can do vs them is aovid them, and that doesn't help anything.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Or you know, you can swap your hero...If they pick Winston I can just take Reaper to burst him down.

SeductiveGrandpa2 votes

Seems pretty lame to have to keep switching characters, I mean, what if you enjoy playing Widow or Genji? I play OW and getting counterpicked and then playing a character that I don't like solely because of counters is painful.

Tyquesha2 votes

so a constant death timer is more fun ok

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

Heaven forbid people want to enjoy playing a game and not be forced to pick things they don't want to in the hopes of "winning". It's a game, having fun should take priority over getting a higher win rate.

General Esdeath 1 votes

Not in ranked :^)

General Esdeath 1 votes

Well in ranked you pick what you need, I don't do normal on OW. And you don't swap back and forth, you kill whoever it is and then swap back if you want or keep on it if you're good. It's called tactical play.

Pyrokineticmage5 votes

Overwatch is infinitely more balanced. Why? Because you can change heroes in the middle of a game to counter the opponent's team composition. It really boils down to which team can adapt to a certain team composition faster.

SeductiveGrandpa2 votes

I don't understand this about Overwatch and I don't think I ever will.... Why? I understand the idea of picking counters to the enemy's team, but, then it causes this scenario: NOBODY STOPS PICKING COUNTERS It sounds pretty tiresome to keep switching characters that you want to play because someone counterpicked you.

Trash MammaI1 votes

Simple, online gaming communities are retarded. You hand them counters. Everyone too selfish to switch.

(Looking at you Genji and Hanzo players) ((And ESPECIALLY you Widow players)

Well there are three good reasons I see this design being a good thing.

One is the game would feel more dynamic and active. Makes people actively think of new team comps. Not to mention chances of comebacks are more likely , so people won't give up as easily. Also comebacks are always exciting to watch.

The second reason is to stop the feeling of losing a game before it even started. In the League pro scene there is a saying where the pick ban phase already determines the match. People generally hate seeing this as the game becomes predictable and boring.

The third reason is because the player would feel more in control of the game. In Overwatch, if your team needs a better tank you can easily switch to it for your team. Allowing the players to feel more in control of the game would generally reduce toxicity. In League, the worst feeling is when you do fine in lane but your teammates fed the enemy making you feel HOPELESS. This is usually where all the rage starts pouring out

Crazy Chatter2 votes

Tru, LoL is toxic, but if people say the most overloaded game with a hero that has a 12 sec cd ekko ult, an aimbot ult, a walking turret, aoe heals, and tanks that outdamage off heroes and can one shot them is balanced, then you have a screw in your head

Valeckserai1 votes

Best idea ever, "League community sucks, so I'm going to go play Overwatch instead!"

Great. Brilliant. Original. Definitely the only one to ever think this.

SeductiveGrandpa4 votes

"Well, i'm just gonna quit (leave for 3 days) League, instead of saying goodbye, I should probably shit on League as a game before I go."

Lord Galvatron1 votes

No, we WANT them to leave League to play Overwatch so all the toxic people will be there instead. It rito games master plan to sabotage Overwatch.
