I picked darius and I see I get countered by Renekton and he still losses in lane solo but then I see what you described xD!
I once played Gnar on-hit AP. only for my teammates give a "all you can eat" for the enemy yi. (I end up as dessert)
still, beside the 2/9 (died only once to a 5/1 master yi gank, again dessert) I ended the game withy the highest farm score.
and that is fun if you think about my lane opponent a

i was luck of getting 2/9 and 260+ of farm, if i well remember.
so unlucky.
it's worser when you not only keep up with farm, but also try you best to not die. only for the guy do a roam and came back with 3 to 5 kills.
