He is caring, but in a serious way now. He is willing to dish out pain to those who don't respect life and beauty. Basically if you seek to destroy then Taric has no qualms destroying you. He does it to protect everything else though, so he is definitely nice in the proper sense of the word. He is just willing to get his hands dirty for the sake of that.

That being said the Taric most people think of is old Taric, who was definitely much more silly and goofy and friendly.

Indeed, he first got a buff to his Q and ult, but then got nerfed 3 times in his E and ultimate. He was way stronger on release, but of course, it takes a while for people to play him at full potential. I don't mind Riot's strategy of releasing champs a bit too strong so people give their money to then nerf them appropriately. As long as he doesn't get Olaf'd.

Similar thing happened with Nami where no one considered investing in her because there's Janna and Sona already, until a small buff happened followed by a series of necessary nerfs.

I am completely opposite with you on Ivern. I hate his personality and goody goodness so much it's so irritating but I love his gameplay and spammed so many games with him when he came out. He has such a unique playstyle and finding out new ways to build him was amazing. I also enjoyed the micro management he had with his ult and just everything. Great champion, he became 'overpowered' when locket and redemption came out though.

A supportive character that has high gold gain can easily abuse these items... Personally I would play Ivern even more if they just took out his old character and gave him something else.
