Damned if I know, he's already super sized in "A New Dawn" and according to an old JoJ entry (yes it's still canon) sizes are reduced to even the playing field so to speak on the Rift, meaning he could actually be that tall.

And the suit looks more mechanical than anything else, as plates that large would require either superhuman effort or a big ass wrestler so I'm going on a guess and assuming it's a mechanized suit that can no longer be opened.
