I don't think they're going to Retcon the fact that her gloves were improvised on the spot to save a few lives after a bad heist.

Or the fact that she constantly tinkered and upgraded them.

I dont know, Piltover and Zuan are weird places, I missed the VI lore i guess i only picked up the past gang relation. Seems like everyone has some knowledge of machines/science there. But Jinx particularly doesn't strike me as the type to construct things, more so i think she aquires/steals and modifies with little aesthetic motifs. Examples, the face on Fishbones, the ears on Pow Pow, the Chompers on her grenades.

In Vi's lore, it specifically says she took the arms off a worker robot, jerry rigged them for use on her person, saved a bunch of miners, and then proceeded to use her new gauntlets (which she upgraded herself) to beat the living snot out of every other criminal on the planet. So yeah. Vi made her gloves.
