Never surrender. Its always possible for the enemy team to throw! Or a turn around at the last second. I see the second option quite a bit actually.
Literally just played a game where we tried to surrender 4 times. Near the end of the game, we were down 9k gold, 4 turrets, 4 dragons, and Baron. And yeah, we won. Throws happen way too often to make surrendering worth it unless it's for the double nexus explosion. Then it's fine ;D.
I keep hoping for the day when Surrender will be eliminated from the game.

I almost never surrender, but I've noticed that as I go up in mmr the throws happen less and it takes longer to turn around. I bet there is a hypothetical point at which you're high enough surrender makes sense bc of time constraints. What I mean by this is that the chance of throw and time it takes to turn around would be low enough you might be better off surrendering and winning two more with that time to make up the LP. Might not exist though, I only just hit gold.
