Back when I played top-lane, I would generally grab Irelia, Malphite or Nautilus against them.

Irelia is fairly self-explanatory since she works well against ranged champions.

Post-6, Malphite or Nautilus would essentially give their jungler a free kill whenever they came top-lane.

I actually don't mind ranged champs, less escapes and cc. It's much harder to kill a Malphite than an Ashe.
