But I'm just having nightmare scenarios of Kalista with poor squishy Sona in cases where ulting is not an option. You know how Kalista players can be.

For some reason in this matchup Sona always seems to bounce back to the Kalista after hitting the enemy team rather than staying next to the enemy like a Leona or something would, not sure if this is a bug or some interaction based on the amount of armor the support has.

Also Kalista's W proc plus Sona's Auto-Q-Powerchord combo deals some crazy damage.

That would definitely explain it, makes sense from a balance perspective as well, I wonder what type of interaction this would have with champions that have changing AA range like Kayle/Kog'Maw

I dunno, if Kalista starts W, that's some nasty early poke damage. They could probably all in someone at level one if they got off a Sona q from both their autos + Sona's passive + Kalista's W passive.

A conversation I had with my Teambuilder Kalista yesterday when playing Sona:

Sona I'm going to build tank, since I'm probably going to get Kalista'd a lot anyway.

Kalista What do you mean "Kalista'd"?

Kalista/Sona is actually fairly powerful as far as poking (Kalista's W passive plus Sona's Q synergy), as well Kalista ult lets Sona ult pretty safely, and without using flash
