This is the most accurate description I've seen. S+ good sir.
That's a good description. I'm honestly really intrigued by the idea of learning both my champion pool and my build paths on them again. It helps keep the game fresh for me.
But yeah, with the state of these new item changes a LOT of the old build paths/core builds are unrecognizable compared to live, which of course is making people helicopter and panic. People are just going to have to adjust. It's amusing to see people react like they expected a flat-out buff like the juggernaut update.
I will admit that I don't particularly care for the zhonya's change and the change to athene's, since it's making mana-hungry mages push for grievous wounds/morello as part of their core. The last League of Morellos (double morello build, anyone?) when athene's was nerfed left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm really disappointed that riot failed to see the opportunity to modernize or make seeker's armguard competitive with hexdrinker, its direct counterpart in the AP vs AD matchup. It's been one of THE biggest complaints from the mage community this season and its only resulted in a slap on the wrist for hexdrinker/maw that didn't even address the problem.
Getting the riot balance team to move AND hit their mark is a lot like playing a game of drunken darts. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
You know what these item changes mean for me?
I have to redo my
item sets for the 1000th time....
