I do the same thing. The ult cancelling didn't work so well once, and my friends have never let it go...

My ADC and I had gotten the enemy Zyra support poked down to half-health. Our jungler was coming in for a gank to finish things off and I was hiding in the bottom wall-side bush. I asked "Do you want her now?" intending to poke Zyra a little and force her towards the jungler and ADC by blocking her path with my ult. Just as I said that, she came right towards me to ward. I saw an opportunity and used R. She popped instantly, and unfortunately my jungler and ADC didn't get credit for 'helping'. Ever since that game, when my friends see a teammate coming to help with a kill, but they've got things covered they'll say "Do you want her/him now?"

QWE Is the way in my opinion since your E's damage doesn't go up that much and its mostly an utility spell. I prefer the added damage the W gives to my combo.

Never max E second, and maxing W first is the only way you're going to win certain matchups :) But of course maxing Q is more viable in most matchups. And when you're VK support your objective is not to give kills to your ADC, if you're going to kill something kill it. You can use that gold as much your ADC can, it's very different from classical support where gold has less impact on them than on ADCs. But of course don't kill steal. This comes from plat 4 VK supp only player

You can keep people under tower 100% of the time with him. It's fun.

I climbed from S3 to P3 only with VK support and never got flamed for playing it :o

I've had an ADC ask the enemy team to report me and complained all game that he's doing poorly because he doesn't have a real support. I was Veigar pre-update-- I was something like 5/1/2, and he was 0/4. Sometimes you just gotta make sure you get the kills instead of your shitty ADC so that gold isn't wasted. (Though most times you want to give it to your ADC! Ya just gotta decide if they're shitty or not lol)

To me it usually means more people to fire my laser at :D
