This is the wrong attitude to have. You shouldn't be stopping an ally from farming; It's fine to proxy your own lane, as long as it's known by your team and all of the affected parties (ally parties) agree to the proxy. The mid laner said to stop, which meant stop. Listening and cooperating with your teammates is essential.
