I know. = ( I found the full video on youtube, and didn't feel so bad after I saw that they gave the Raccoon more candy afterwards though.

...But then I clicked another cute animal video in the recommended links and found out about the cute animal video industry is driving species to extinction... and how animal poachers tear out the teeth of the Slow Loris without anesthetic so that people can record the animals' reactions to being tortured (tickled)...

Depends on what's in the water. If it was relatively pure (like a spring) or warm, yeah, salt and sugar can dissolve REALLY quickly, especially salt.

Not to say it's either for sure, but salt be crazy, yo.

depending on how solid the block was, it could have simply fallen apart that fast rather than totally dissolving

It's not dry ice as that would have caused the water to bubble and a lot of fog to be generated. It may have been nitrogen or something similar.

It can't be anything close to being nitrogen or anything of that sort, if it was then the whole face of that raccoon would be frozen/ the raccoon wouldn't even touch it. It's just like the human body, you wouldn't touch liquid nitrogen now would you?

I have seen chunks of snow do this. Living in Iowa, as children playing with snow is common. Especially since it was a stream and carried it away. The only reason I wouldn't think this is the white dissolving away as well...

My grandfather apparently had a pet raccoon he liked giving sugar cubes to. The little guy would be thrilled and try to wash it in a creek, where the cube melted.
