REAL Smurfs in champ select.
Summoner 1-"Can I have top plz"
Summoner 2-"Nah I'll take top"
Summoner 1-"K then can I have Jun"
Summoner 3-"Nope I'm jun"
Summoner 1-"I guess I'll Just mid, but its my worst role"
Summoner 4&5-"Okay we will take bot lane"
--In Game-- Summoner 1 proceeds to go 21/0/20 without help in lane, controls dragon, and takes 7 turrets himself...
"I'm smurfing, give me mid"
>goes 0/4/0 in the first five minutes without being ganked >blames jungler and/or support >actually just blames everybody in general >goes afk
every vayne on the enemy team is a smurf, every vayne in our team is not a smurf

I find most smurfs I've met only say so after the game in post game lobby. Usually in defense of someone getting raged at who they thrashed.
"Guys, cut him some slack man, I'm smurfing to play w/ a friend who's too far below my main for me to duo w/."-Says the 15-1-6 full AP nunu/adc annie/whatever
Edit: Also anyone rude enough to use smurfing to get a role they want who is legit smurfing usually just links op.gg or lolking or something for their 15-0 win streak on riven, bc you know, totally chill to face roll people multiple divisions below you right? Ass hat
What i found funny lol only smurfs lower than plat would say they are smurfing lol . Personally, i never say i'm smurfing to get lanes, nor do the people i know who are smurfs.
We all know that real smurfs only play 
A duo queue announced first thing that they were diamond smurfs and demanded their roles of choice. Several of us responded with doing the normal pick order and ignoring them (as well everyone should), then when they started complaining and calling us newbs and its various synonyms while threatening to afk if we didn't meet their demands, someone said, "I don't care at all, just don't feed with the role you get" Then they dodged.
I actually trust people way more when they say absolutely nothing during champ select. Or if people offer two preferences instead of just one, like, "pref jungle > mid > adc", or anything like that. That builds confidence in the team, to tell us you're perfectly comfortable in more than one role, even if it's of course one more so than the other.
I don't always say it, but if I'm last or second-to-last pick, I'll say something like, "prefer jungle > adc > mid > supp"
Fun Fact: 99% of teammates who-
- loses lane.
- feeds a lot.
- stubbornly never buys wards & dies
always claims they're Diamond smurfs. Or just another douche who uses the "It's just normals" excuse.
When I smurf I tend to fail horribly so I don't tell anyone I'm smurfing. I'd look like an idiot if I did.
But honestly, I shouldn't be smurfing. It just so happens that I have several accounts, each on a different server.
