I cant say I'm an optimist, realist, or even a pessimist. I just have a fundamental belief that if you hit the "play" button you agree to play until someone destroys the nexus. It doesn't mean you're gonna play till you give up. You are signing a contract that states you will try to win and do your best.

No one ques up with the intent to give up. People surrender because the game is over and they dont want to wait another 20-30mins doing nothing. All you are doing is wasting time.

I simply say no to surrendering.

Why?

Because usually the person trying to surrender is at fault for the situation in the first place. They way I figure they made the mess they can stick around to clean it up.

You aren't going to learn anything by giving up when your behind. So either learn or take the report for AFKing out.

Not really. How often do you have a feeder that spams the surrender vote until they get their way? All the guy is saying is that if you're going to mess up then at least have the decency to try and be helpful to your team or not whine and moan about how the game is over when you're the one who started the whole thing in the first place.

2 problems with that:

Their team isn't pushing objectives and just farming kills. A comeback will probably happen eventually if they don't pull their act together,.
We actually won't surrender because the 2 optimists will keep voting "no".

I always get stuck with idiot optimist who think its possible to come back from a 0 to 50 game. Then they hold me hostage for 40mins in a losing game by refusing to surrender. It makes me want to rip my hair out.

If you are the type of person who "never surrenders" you need to get this idea out of your head. Even pro teams in LCS surrendered and teams have even surrendered during the world finals. Stop wasting your time and every one else's unless you can see a clear opportunity to win. Please.

I will give you that "LCS Pro's" probably know when to surrender, and there are times when i will finally agree to surrender...however.

I never see pro's in my games.

I see people like you who are NOT pro's.

If your not pro you can still learn something by remaining in the fight so guess what!

The game is about having fun, and when you are 20+ kills behind and you have that guy that won't surrender that is frusterating not fun.

If you did not feed the 20+ deaths to the guys with 20+ kills then cool, but if the first person to hit the surrender button is the guy that did the feeding? No I will make him stay and deal with the situation he created.

I'd prefer to always have optimists... Played a game where we aced the winning team but our ADC refused to leave base because "it doesn't matter how many times you ace them, we will still lose"... With an optimist the worst that can happen is you can't surrender, with a pessimist they just stop playing and wait for the surrender even if you are destroying their nexus in a base race, they will be at fountain saying "it doesn't matter if i stop them or help you, we will lose"

Well,that depends.If I'm having a bad performance or my team is toxic as crap,I want to jump ship as soon as possible.If I'm satisfied with my performance,I'll just not vote & see where this trainwreck will take us. I'm sure we'll surrender.Just not sure if I will surrender.

I'll agree to surrender if the game is lost, but if you're a prick I'll vote no just because I can have fun watching you whine about the game and the lack of surrender, if the rest of the team can turn it around then great, but really my whole plan was to go out listening to you screaming your head off.

Change the "realist" to whiner. Any realists I see in game are 9 times out of 10 the worst people to play with. All they want to do is surrender because they just focus on the now situation rather than planning out for strategies for success. Their primary objective is to grind out games for wins rather than to play the game for what it really is. Additionally from my experiences with realists is that they proceed to becoming very aggressive and toxic towards their teammates when they don't have things go the way they want to, whether it'd be in-game chat or in a voice call with strangers or friends.

I fit in the realist category and I seem to be doing pretty well and have quite a lot of fun actually. Why? Because I don't waste my time giving up from the beginning of the game like a pessimist would, but I don't stay in a game that we are clearly losing as an optimist would when we are down 5 turrets and 20 kills.

I like to think I'm good at decision making and map awareness. I pretty much ping for my whole team and when I'm not focusing too hard I'm telling them what to do as well and so far it has worked out perfectly, therefore I think I can allow myself and take onto the decision when we surrender or not.

If we are all behind and no one is ahead that's a clear loss. But when I'm winning lane, whilst my team has already died 20 times I don't care, since I know I can carry it. If you look through my game history you will see a lot of these scenarios. I'm a realist and I take pride in it.
