It's not the armor itself that protects her (though some of her armor is durable as shit,) Erza's power is like MMO magic.

When you change your gear, even if it's more revealing, your stats go up in special things. Like, Erza's slightly revealing fire armor protects against fire, even though it's slightly revealing.

Yeah it's fanservicy, but most Anime is. At least it isn't HSOTD

Eh, I watch so much anime it doesn't really affect me anymore. Though I can agree fanservice isn't necessary, it's a big thing over in Japan, so we can't really change it. At least even though Erza's revealing she's still a total badass.

It's her backstory, and honestly I cried for her. It gives her character depth, motivation, and a clear understanding of where her personality comes from. Honestly, if you think that was a bad arc you probably don't like a lot of long running anime like Naruto etc do you?

While I'm not opposed to effeminate armor, I do agree that seeing armor made more combat appropriate would be pretty awesome imo.

Thinking more Samus' chest plate than the boob plate we typically see. Also, no heels unless they are riding a mount.

I mean, to be fair, Erza would probably kill whoever is attacking her before they get even a scatch on her, and whenever she did actually get hit by anything, I feel like whatever legit armor she would actually have would do shit anyway.

So why not go into battle naked.

I know that would be the ultimate fanservice, but saying 'this person is SUCH a good fighter they could defeat their opponent in a flash, so they don't really need armour!' is a poor argument.

well i agree with your opinion to a point take in mind in that armor people tend to die from all the swords before she gets to them. she has some armor that covers her up a lot and the defensive stats are pretty op
