Hey superfriends. Do you like Ascii art when it's used tastefully? I sure do. Unfortunately I suck at whatever skills it requires to do well, so I have a challenge for you guys: can you create an Ascii fistbump that I (and anyone) can use when it's appropriate?

I can't do something like this, but can't you use the letters of Riot to make it? Or would that screw up the black-white balance-thingy?

I could, but people tend to use letters that look like the overall shape to make the picture, in this case "M". The other symbols or letters used (and I notably think I screwed up in some parts) are used to round the shape. EDIT: Made it slightly better I think.

I did it reddit. Figured out how many dashes are the same size as one large M (three) which allowed me to align it correctly. Notepad OP =) And yes, it's not as pretty as yours :p I'm not good at this

Please note everyone that because the Boards is made to adjust the text width on the fly with different resolutions posting stright into the comment is a bad idea. Adding a .txt attachment to your comment is heavily advised. :)

If you had an option to use Courier New or similar fixed-width font, then this would look like a big fist. Normally, forums have an option to use fixed-width fonts masked as the "Code" option or similar. It seems you just straight up removed that option entirely.

If there was more diversity in champion portraits and item icons etc, could use those to create the pattern of the fist... But there is not enough diversity. :-/

Forum removes spaces for some reason, and it looks really ugly to fill it with commas or dots. But whatever, it kinda works.

The Boards really doesn't allow for much variation in ASCII since everything gets pushed to the left.

You can arguably use something less intrusive than dashes, for example:

EDIT: still looks better without line beraks, and I had to correct for the aspect ratio of the characters, but it looks pretty awesome still in my opinion.

really hope i didn't do a typo… took me 1 hour 45 minutes to do it because i made a typo halfway through and had to fix it. It is too late for me to check it for typos. I just wanted to get it done. Edit: Just woke up and found a typo so I am gonna fix it right now. Edit: I think i fixed it.

...I don't think it's even close, but I just wanted to try this thing in this style before anyone else does.

"~" for the thumb, "1" for the index finger, and "m" for the three other fingers. "." is nothing but a spacer.

Well, there are plenty of generators out there, but if you want to make one from scratch, here's some tips:

Use Microsoft Word, that way you can copy the desired picture into it and set the format to "Behind Text".
Pick a simple font like Courier New that has fixed width for all symbols and letters (unless you're extremely advanced).
Fill out each object in the picture with a single letter (preferably the same overall shape as the object), be aware that you may need different letters to create color contrast such as between a label on a can of noodles and the actual can.
Go back and round out each shape of every object.

Yeah in high school did alot of coding that used this type of art style to add colors/pictures/shapes to your game you'd make in C++/C+/HTML etc that was like 5+ years ago at least.
