I live in the south, and the only people who 100% support him are the die-hard racists (mind you, a very small minority nowadays) or people who just say that they like him because they like riling other people's nerves.

Everyone else seems to be doing it because we're all pissed at lobbyists and the two major parties right now, so people are voting for Trump just to spite the Democrats and Republicans in office. Only reason Trump is Republican is because, let's face it, you're not going to win if you're independent, and I don't think the Democrats would have tolerated him for more than three minutes. Trump knows we're all pissed, and he seems to be trying to expose politicians and big government as the problem, which, to an extent, I agree with.

I also agree with the rest of the planet in that Trump is probably the most despicable human being alive. He, honestly, would be getting many more votes right now if he weren't such an ass to literally everything.

Oh well. What's sad is that none of the candidates we have right now are good people who could run this country (Bernie Sanders is probably about as close to that as we can get, but I strongly disagree on his socialist ideology)

The thing is, the Republicans will vote for him even if the majority of them don't agree with him just because they're so desperate for a win. And in no way, shape, or form am I defending him in any way. I am a staunch liberal. But honestly, politics are not what they were. Today, the Republican Debate look like a bunch of twelve year olds arguing. It's pretty sad.
