Mission 3 : Boss basic command line (computery action)

Hi,

I was just wondering how the basic command line computery (green) action works for the Boss. It says ''Roll the Rune Die: All Mechs must face that direction or take 1 damage.''

1. We we're wondering if we had the choice to turn to face the direction of the rune die or take 1 damage

Or

2. If we didn't have a choice : if the rune die points in the direction of our Mech it's the only way we don't take a damage (we can't turn to face the direction of the rune die).

I assume it's option number 1, but I just wanted to confirm.
