Because I like board games and League of Legends.
It's very fun if you enjoy programmable movement board games, and component-wise it's one of the best value games that exists.
It sounded like an awesome game, with high production values, "Riot Quality" and extremely worth its cost.
Even if you don't like the game, the mech statues alone are almost worth the money.
So I have a weekly board game night and a few us play LoL and I also am a huge fan of co-op games so it seemed like a good fit. And the game was everything I wanted and more.
How is the game?? I heard about it through their podcast, never knew League had a board game, and it looks really cool how the board's divided up. Also, more affordable and exciting than Monopoly if I'm not mistaken.
Its boardgamegeek ranking is very high (24th out of tens of thousands of games). It looked interesting. The components looked nice. I trust Riot's game design philosophies. I was not disappointed.
