Question about Mech Magnet Card

For Mech Magnet, when we rolled the rune die we rolled blue, but both of us were up at the edge of the board on the blue side and therefore neither of us could move in that direction. Do we take damage since we were unable to move, or since we would have moved if we could have, does that count as moving and do we not take damage? Thanks for helping us out!
