Does league even punish racist players?

I've recently had a run in with this dude <removed by moderation> who was playing ezreal and from the moment of champ select and to the end of the game, he kept saying n***er towards me, after I told him multiple times to stop. Personally, I can tolerate toxic players who cuss people out, troll, or even leave the game, but when it comes down to race, I get really offended and defensive about it. Of course I reported him, but dont tell me he is gonna get like a 5 game chat restriction.

Hey Amaterasu, I've removed the name from your post, as shaming/reporting players on the boards is a violation of the Universal Rules. It's ok to discuss this as long as you censor or just leave out the names of those players involved.

If you have questions or concerns about this action please visit us in the PB&M channel of the Moderation Discord here.

As for how Riot deals with racism, the answer is "Harshly". Reports for repeated racism is almost met with an immediate 14 day or permanent ban. As long as anyone in the match reported this then they are most likely already gone.

Edit: I also thought this was the Player Behavior board. Discussion about behavior and the punishment systems in-game go there.

It is not your place to decide what Riot should or will do with them. Get over yourself.

That said, if i remember hearing correctly, they have a 0 tolerance policy against racism. It can get you banned, it has gotten people banned, and will get people banned. There was one instance i do believe that someone was banned just for saying "this person called me a _____ " (i cant remember the word, but pretty sure the N word was it) in all chat to get help reporting them, and found themselves banned along with them.

Best thing to do to deal with them is mute them in game, and report after. Do not make a huge deal out of it after asking them to stop, because it will just get you upset and could end up getting you both in trouble along with just make them laugh and you upset. After that its a out of sight out of mind, why let them ruin your gaming experience?

mute them.

and if he's saying it in champ select, just dodge dude. I dont see why you waste your energy on him.

I can't imagine the rest of your team playing with you 2, constantly watching you guys argue. I would have just muted you both.

If they're repeat offenders, they'll get banned pretty quick.

If they cant type it then no one can type it there for no problems.
