Cracked trays

Has anyone had a cracked tray? My Mech tray has a really bad crack. I've only played the game twice with my family and I don't how it cracked. I am OCD with taking care of my things. I contacted customer service and they said that they could only replace game pieces. I would need to return the entire game and get a replacement. I don't want to do that. I don't know why they can't contact the tray's manufacturer and order me a replacement. ☹️
