Mission 1 movement questions

What determines distance for minion movement in mission 1? Specifically, if distance means the number of moves the minion must make to reach the bomb, minions will always move horizontally until they are in line with the bomb, before they move vertically. This is not the case if the diagonal distance to the bomb is what is considered the "distance".

If distance is diagonal, then I have a followup question:

If the square that brings the minion closest to the bomb is occupied, but another square that leads toward the bomb is unoccupied, does the minion choose the second square? Or does it simply not move at all?

Also:

If 3 players are in a line, and the leftmost one moves right, does that push the stack of all 3 players to the right?

Thanks!

This is what i tkink, may be wrong:

No. Because one player only pushes another when there is a free space in the direction the second player will be moved. In your case in this place there are other player.

But I do not know what happens when there is a servant in this space. Posibly the minion dies.

I guess for reference, this is what we ended up deciding to do (hopefully this is correct):

  1. Minions move based on diagonal distance, otherwise the movement doesn't make much sense.
  2. We decided the minion would just consider itself blocked and not move, but I could see this going either way.
  3. This is actually in the rulebook I believe, but the mechs will push the entire line of mechs.

Minions initially move the way the mission describes their preference (M1 says they move along the green/blue axis first), so pretty much as you described.

The "distance counting" part is nonsensical. You'll always get the same distance no matter how you count. I assume it's used to decide where the minion goes when there are two viable targets.

The minion would use the alternate path only if the distance to the bomb is the same as the blocked path (since they always take the sshortest route). Minions aren't very smart. They also won't consider oilsliding in the movement.

And finally: The 3man conga works as long as the rightmost still has a square he can move to. (Source: https://boardgamegeek.com/article/23990098#23990098)
