A few questions that came up while playing...

So my friends and I have been playing whenever we can over the past couple weeks and we've been having a great time with the game. However, there have been a few instances where we weren't entirely sure on what to do and we were hoping you could clarify some things.

When using omnistomp and you are directly adjacent to and facing the boss with clear spaces on either side, can you choose to attempt to move forward even though you can't due to the boss/wall/obstacle? Or do you absolutely HAVE to move to an open space to the left or right? I really didn't want to miss my ripsaw shot by moving out of range...

Secondly, the boss has a card called "Get over here!" that pulls a mech directly to him. If this pull would move a mech forward in a straight line towards the boss, would the mech trigger any rune spaces along the way, effectively lowering the bosses shields for future attacks? Or does this simply "teleport" you to the boss without touching anything else?

And finally, going back to omnistomp for a moment... Corki's schematic "Ace Pilot", if I remember correctly, states "players may omnistomp in different directions instead of all in one direction". I'm pretty sure this does NOT mean we can use it to move BACKWARDS but once again, we're weren't 100% positive about it. So for example, a level 3 omnistomp with Ace Pilot will allow you to move left, forward, and right in any order but never backwards right?

Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated for future game nights.

Thanks! Heimerdinger

Hey man, I'll try to answer your questions ;)

  1. You can absolutely choose to walk into the boss/wall/whatever. It's a valid direction to move in, it's just a 0 space movement. Would be pretty dumb if you were forced to move into a direction you don't want to while your movement card (like Omnistomp) lets you choose any of the 4 directions.

  2. My friends and I played it like it would teleport you to the adjacent boss' space. The "special" case that you're describing in which you stand in a straight line to the boss should not be "helpful" to you because in any other scenario where you stand on any "not-directly"-space to the boss you have no valid information on how to probably choose any spaces where you could trigger events just like destroying crystal shards or anything else. And: If there's a massive boulder in the way, you don't stop there either. So IMO you are kinda "teleported" like you said. (Would not be in the bosses intention to help you finishing itself through "moving you over event-spaces and letting you trigger it" wouldn't it. ;) )

  3. Correct. Because Omnistomp doesn't let you move backwards in the first place, there is no way Corki's Ace Pilot would let you move backwards. It's only for changing the movement's direction but still moving in valid directions (which backwards is not).

Hope this helps for future gameplay! Sincerely, Panda
