Escalation Mission 2

Hi, I don't understand when escalation appears on mission 2. Even in my language.

If a mech pick first crystal (2 other on ground), 1st escalation appears, that is clear. But after, if I lose my crystal, 3 are on ground but we can pick another crystal. Does it make that the 2nd crystal activate 2nd escalation (there is still 2 on the ground) ? That implies another question : I catch 1 crystal (lvl 1 of escalation active), Second mech catches another one, (lvl 2 of escalation active), I lose my crystal 3rd mech catch 3rd crystal, there is 2 on ground , so still lvl 2 or lvl 3 because it's 3rd crystal ?

If we catch 3rd crystals with no crystal in school, that means that we are going to lvl 3 of escalation ?

Or does it work like that ? 1st mech is picking -> escalation Going to school 2nd mech is picking -> escalation 3rd mech is picking -> nothing 2nd goes to school Escalation due to 3rd mech
