Are these models paint-able?

I'm a big time Warhammer 40k player and a lover of tabletop games and miniatures. As such, I was wondering what type of plastic was used to make these models. It appears that the main heroes are already painted but the little minions look like they're kind of just a basic grey color.

Do Rioters think it would be possible to base and paint these minions like you would a normal tabletop figurine? I think it would be a lot of fun to have some interestingly colored minions running around on the table.

I feel like the sky is the limit, and especially a group of gamers making games they would foresee the want to paint them. Nothing is stopping you.

Certain plastics are better for painting, so it was more or less a question of whether the plastic quality was helpful.

The minion models are only painted with a black wash.

As for the quality of the plastic, it is some sort of higher quality composite of plastic/rubber. Think action figures type of plastic and not Warhammer type of flimsy plastic. The models were able to survive my 6 year old cousin smashing the minions with the base of the large models and not have any axes break off.
