Lucian "Nerf"

I feel like I am the only person that is upset with the changes to Lucian. I have always thought of him as a bit overpowered and Riot expressed that they felt the same way, but I find it ridiculous that their solution was to reduce his attack range and Q cast range by 50 and buff literally everything else. He seems even stronger than he was before.

I totally agree. I would have made a similar thread but I'm just going to agree with you here. I feel powerless as a support against him -_-

But damn he's so fun to play now

I feel like the changes give him clear counterplay: harass him from outside his range. If he dashes forward, jump on him - his escape will be down for a couple seconds.

So is he strong? Sure. Is he a toplane bully? Definitely. But now he can't do everything well, and that's what matters. I bet we're going to start seeing less of Lucian in competitive play, because he's no longer a safe pick.

I agree. Attack range is important, but the huge buff to a dash that already is a free quicksilver (for slows) does more than make up for the nerf on range. That's ignoring the buff to his base stats.

Riot wasn't looking to nerf the champion, that wanted to make it a champion with a clear playstyle and also clear weaknesses.

Lucian is a ruthless hunter bent on getting vengeance on anyone (mostly just Thresh) who took his wife from him. His playstyle now reflects that: He has high mobility and light-slinging is a must and he is constantly weaving spells and movement throughout fights.

It really fits him. This is how I fell in love with Lucian and to anyone else who favors this, this was a great change. Our favorite way to play Lucian is being amplified and he was given a clear cut in areas that didn't fit. He now has pretty bad siege potential and his laning phase is more reliant on his skills and his ability to maximize his spell weaving to stay alive or try to get kills.

this is what 4.12 did to lucian it balanced him by adjusting power curves, so instead of lucian being strong with early, mid, late, very late he is now much stronger early, strong mid, and weaker late, and even weaker very late so lucian's power, instead of being a straight line near the top of the graph the line now starts higher up but slants downward as the game goes on0 but as a marksman he still scales very well into late game just more balanced compared to other marksman (now they need to nerf caitlyn)

Wait, everything else? You mean his dash and that's it right?

I think it's a step in the right direction, but the lack of mana required to dash and the very low cooldown with passive gives him just a tad too much early without a solid tradeoff. Maybe make it cost a flat 40-50 mana or just not interact with his passive at all... it's like Graves' Quickdraw but with much more utility.
