Question - ADC Corki

ADC Corki does ~60%-70% magic damage to champs and ~30%-40% physical damage to champs even when buying a last whisper. I've found this to be true when I play him and in a LCS game I was watching the casters were saying that the Corki player did 2 to 1 magic to physical damage to champs in the game just played. So I was wondering wouldn't it make more sense to buy a void staff on him instead of a last whisper? I've never tried this in game since my teammates would flame me like crazy but it seems like it would be more efficient.

I know how noob that sounds and I get that his phy damage is guaranteed and his mag damage is from skillshots. Also the numbers swing more towards phy damage post IE however, most games dont last long enough to get to 6 item builds. Most of the time you use his missiles and even when an enemy closes on you the combo is Q auto R then valk away and resume using missiles. Anyway just wondering since seems like VS would be more efficient then LW.

The reason Corki is strong is at least in part because of his hybrid damage capabilities. During mid game skirmishes he will shred tanks who have yet to obtain multiple hundreds of each resistance. Maximizing your early magic damage actually makes it easier to itemize against and subsequently decreases his early-mid game power. Lategame, as you pointed out, he gains a lot more physical damage from IE and will need LW in order to kill tanks. You can, however, delay your LW until after IE as you will gain a lot more hybrid damage from the bit more AD that IE gives. Also, if you want magic pen., a reasonable purchase would be Sorc Shoes. They cost 200 more gold than Greaves, but offer a lot more damage overall than Greaves would.

I never built LW on corki, i prefer black cleaver if i want armorpen, cause he scales well with cdr and his E applys those stacks easily for massive aoe armor shred.

U should play corki with hybrid pen runes and always get magic-pen boots, cause he deals alot of dmg and doesn't realy scale with the as from berserkers.

I personaly like to built corki more bruiser like without IE but more tankiness instead, as he got a pretty high base dmg with his Q+R and stays a massive threat non the less.

If u want to maximize ur poke, a voidstaff or lilandrials probably works well.

How ever, i recoment to pick corki in teams with alot of physical dmg(ad-mid), as he will bring the missing magical dmg while helping the rest of his team with a strong aoe armor shred.
