So the other day, I found out about the Annie Nerf.

I myself A HUGE Annie Fan or at least what I consider myself. I only Play Annie and no other champion (I know im crazy) SO you would imagine how deeply upset I would be, especially since she IS NOT in any way needed a nerf, now I don't exactly recall or have the slightest idea of how Riot finds what champion is "op" and if you know how they work around that stuff please do tell. I usually think its something to do with an MLG player really going insane and killing everybody with a certain character in this case Annie, and having no counter. I have not EVER heard of any threads or posts pleading for an Annie Nerf and since I've seen quite a few MLG players using Annie, (don't quote me on that, I barely watch MLG) I would guess that's where they find this information. SO lets talk Stats now

Annie's passive if you didn't know, was nerfed the other day, Everything else was untouched. So her passive allows the next ability to stun the target after 4 abilities have been casted. The stun lasted 1.75 Seconds period. Now it stuns for 1.25 seconds at level 1, 1.5 Seconds at level 9, and 1.75 seconds at level 18. Yes, it is not a major Nerf, at all but really decreases her ability to kill or "Support" early in the game.

Here are reasons why this nerf was really a waste of time, and somewhat an up setter for Annie Fans

  1. Annie is VERY VERY VERY <----- (caps equals seriousness) Squishy or very easy to kill or deplete of health and no her Molten shield does not do Squat, if anything its for building a quick stun or maybe if your as crazy as me you can use it for farming. Molten shield gives you very little armor and magic resist and returns little damage from enemy champions Basic Attacks
  2. Annie is like and ADC (not really) or an ABC (ability Power Carry) but usually referred to as a support probably because of her Stun. her q w and ultimate are all damaging abilities which can all stun the target if pyromania (the passive) is active. So this is a passive which requires 4 abilities to be used which in turn costs mana plus the 5th ability that costs even more mana as the molten shield can't stun. so 5 abilities in general just to stun for 1.75 seconds or now 1.25,1.5, or 1.75 seconds. So this passive doesn't exactly sound like the best passive in the world compared to Aatrox's built in Guardian Angel Passive. So yes this passive is not a cakewalk and won't exactly save your life as easily as someone like Aatrox.
  3. As I mentioned earlier This passive is not the most useful but sort of useful speaking MLG terms. So let's look at Morgana, her Q (Not her Passive) Deals Damage and Grounds (cannot move but can attack and use abilities) you for about 3 SECONDS! Crazy right? and look at this her ult, which is slightly harder to stun with can stun the target for another 1.5 SECONDS!!!! THIS IS OBSURD!

So I used 2 comparisons (there are many more), Now what im about to talk about is a very fiercely debated topic. So you have Annie a very Unused Champion at least before she was put on free rotation which I hate, and even now shes very unused maybe because of her easy to use not very complex abilities which only serve one purpose, and don't give you any buffs at all except for the Molten shield which I mentioned before is VERY VERY VERY useless. Anyways, I don't recall the reason Riot is wasting their Precious time nerfing a very unused and NOT OP champion. Annie is underrated but a very prime symbol of league of legends(everybody loves her). What im trying to get at here is champions like Cait and Riven and many others really are just overused, overpowered, very easy to get fed with, and not fun at all champions that can wreck any lane with hardly no effort at all. and while us the true Riot Fans looking constantly at numbers and stats and ratios trying to find the many reasons why these champions are just too aided and so very overpowered, Riot is over nerfing champions left and right that are not even USED! it really just pisses me off.

So if you have reached this far you are a brave Man, So I ask of you guys to reply in this Discussion what your thoughts are of Annie's Nerf on Annie's Molten Shield on anything Annie-like :).

This nerf has been out for a while now, and I don't know how often you were playing before that but it was a seriously known and overused thing before that nerf. The hit to the passive was aimed solely at Annie support as that early 1.75 sec stun was essentially a death sentence for anyone caught by it, combine that with her stupidly large aa range she could harass without fear of retaliation short of a gank from jungle. They made up for the nerf by reducing her ult's cd significantly later game as well.

Unfortunately I really can't agree with you OP . . .

Support Annie has been a dominant force in the competitive scene for about four months now, and yes there have been people asking for nerfs.

I understand that seeing nerfs on your favorite character really stinks, but at least Riot included compensatory buffs in this case to try not to hurt mid lane Annie. That's something at least, right?
