Food for thought. Amoralism East coaster have a significantly poorer experience playing the game than west coasters, Must be nice having low ping We are not asking for much. Can we please get some information on the status of the servers. Our ping, collectively, is getting worse every patch. Many of us have a ping around 120. A lot of people in the west coast have a sub 40 ping. That's is a big difference and provides a reasonable advantage. Please Riot. #fairplayingfield - Use this in your posts to spread the word Upvote if you want answers.

The Octobus I live in the East Coast and my ping is normally 90-110. I thought it was only me... So east coast ping does exist...

Halohappy I think the reason the servers are sh!t here in the east is because the LCS is focused in the west. They give them the better ping so they have better practice environments and can bring that to the LCS stage in Cali and then the world stage when that rolls around. I've got an average of 95 ping and anything above becomes unplayable

splitsticks Riot is in fact a greedy company. Employees here and there may genuinely care, but at the core the company is owned by greed. There's no reason to run a game as successful as LoL for this many years and not have servers on both coasts, aside from greed. Any rioter who thinks otherwise is deluding him/herself. #fairplayingfield

Yuwao I live in FL and playing this game from beta. What can I say, back in the days my ping was about 50 I guess but now it's 120-150 so yeah kinda not cool.

Sefam It's very frustrating to see your ping go from 90 to 140 over the course of 4 years. Yea, it was 110 a few weeks ago, now it`s 140. Awesome.

Learnding I'm not going to sit here and complain that 60 ping is any better than 100, but ping spikes on a upward scale of 300 or 400 is simply unacceptable, the example you're setting is, "We don't give the slightest **** about anyone but ourselves, but when someone lashes out at us, we send in the PR specialists to literally reiterate what was already brought up".

Its simply outrageous that I get 0 ping spikes, -100 the ping in LAN, and a better experience on a server that is, A) Not native to my actual server B) A server that doesn't support English C) A server used to siphon money out of your pockets, because simply, why not? EA already won the worst company in the world award, we won't get it this year.

****ing, #fairplayingfield

Jib Jig When I first started playing in Massachusetts around 2012 my ping was consistently less than 70. Now that I moved back here, it's always floating at ~150. Riot please; you're not improving anything.

Xonra When I started playing in 2011 my ping was 80. I have actually upgraded both my computer and my internet substantially (to both) since then. My ping now sits at an average of 110 and on a good day it is 105. 3 months ago I was saying 105 was the average and 100 was the low, 6 months ago, 100 was the average and 90-95 was my low.

So my ping has gotten worse slowly over time but worse a lot more this year. Still no Servers even though this has been an issue for YEARS not months. Riot has acknowledged the issue, admitted it being a problem, have even went as far as to admit they themselves see a correlation between higher ping and lower ranked. This has been years of them saying "we are working on it, be patient with us" and then they go quiet and nothing gets done

FFS All is OP And every patch it gets worse.

At this point I'm resigned to it which is why I stopped buying RP. All I've seen out of riot is apologies after apologies with still nothing done. It's been YEARS.

I moved from an Eastern city to a Western city last year, and I definitely noticed a more responsive game play. The difference between 50 ping and 110 ping (1 year ago) is pretty big. So I understand the complaints. Riot knows the problem and they working at it. Riot is building a new centralized server near St. Louis (I think).

In terms of ping getting worse, there are many causes of that. Do you share internet with anyone? Do you run torrent softwares on the background? Sometimes the problem is you, your service provide, rather than Riot.

Has nothing to do with where the LCS is played. LCS is played locally with little to no ping. LAN tournament type thing.

I live on the East Coast, my ping on a good day is around 90-120, sometimes dips to about 85, but I've never seen it below that. It's spiked to 30k before, not sure why, probably just an error from getting dropped

This is only one of many threads about the east coast NA players, with plenty others that agree.

It's time to invest in your product's stability rather than keep turning a blind eye.

I'm not getting bad ping itself, but often there are spikes where it is unplayable and I get a knot in my stomach from how disgusting this lag is.

mh, hm. I see a bunch of irritated crybabies.

I've had a ping of 125 since I started League at the end of Season 1. Just in time for the Kayle skin. I'm living in Texas. And I've realized that it's rarely League's fault this late into it, but more my bad internet's fault. If I post "Riot, please fix my servers" and they do maintenance and "fix" their servers, my ping will still be 125. Two things factor. the farther away you are from the actual closest server. and your own internet. I say closest server because there's not one cranked in California day and night and that's it for NA. Other servers exist and are around. I'm not saying California people don't get a little break because one of the largest servers IS there, but it's not all to the west.

I don't see my ping getting worse with each patch. It's been 90-105 since I started league pre season 1.

What I do see, which I'm not sure is scientifically accurate or just my increased scrutiny since all the ping discussions, is that the 100 ping of today doesn't seem as fluid as the 100 ping of months prior. Seems like I'm getting the same ping but my inputs are getting more sluggish.

Not to take away from your post and it's purpose (living on the west coast I can't comment on this rreally) But could you please fix your quotes?

It will only go in one ear and out the other. Still no reason to stop badgering them about it because it's a legitimate issue #fairplayingfield

I live in oregon and when my internet isnt crapping itself I get a steady ping of 17/18. And isnt the reason because riot is based in Seatle? Or thats what my friends here say....

Reminds me of back when I was playing WoW with a primarily australian guild (I live in arizona). WoW's oceanic servers were located in CA, so I averaged under 100ms ping. Didn't realize it was standard for them to have ping over 500. Tanking a heroic all-guild run, net gets wonky and my ping shoots up to 450.

Me- "Guys, I don't know if I can finish this. My lag is getting too bad and I can't react in time. This is getting unplayable." My GM- "What's it at?" Me- "450"

Silence followed by a chorus of variations of "Go f+++ yourself." and an instant guild boot (followed by immediate reinvite)

I lol'ed

I used to get 80 ping in game (I'm in Florida.) I came back about a month ago from a 6 month break, and I'm sitting at a 120 ping on a GOOD day... To be frank, it's less than awesome. I wouldn't even care if my ping was 40, I'd be happy to be at 80 again. :(
