I'm lost without Locket.

Now that item 3190 is an MR-heavy, no-armor item, I'm feeling a bit adrift when trying to figure out my tanky support/jungle itemization. The old Locket had a ton of great traits:

  • Well-rounded defensive stats
  • Smooth build path - the most expensive element was 600 for the Locket itself
  • CDR
  • Helpful active

I find it a lot harder to justify the new Locket when facing champions like Yasuo and Khazix and Renekton. And even when you are up against a magic-heavy team, the 720 breakpoint is a lot steeper for an income-restricted champion, especially since it now comes earlier in the build path. item 3143 is a strong anti-physical item, but it is even harder to build, and doesn't really protect my team except for the slow (which may or may not help depending who we're against - Zed and Yasuo probably won't care much, for instance). item 3110 is a little better, but my jungle Shyvana usually isn't interested in 400 mana.

The new item 3190 niche is fine. I just miss having a solid item to build in neutral situations - when the enemy team is relatively evenly divided and nobody's super fed. Something new in this space would be great.

The solid item in neutral situations is health. That's the purpose of the stat. Aegis is basically just a Giant's Belt with an MR aura attached.

For what it's worth, try to think of Locket as, "We're facing an AoE Magic Damage team." Otherwise, build for yourself.
