You just play him he is a very strong champ pretty much you want to build things like a hextech gunblade followed by a trinity force then you can either build him dmg with a bork and whatever else you would like or you can build him tanky getting a randuins and spirit visage depending on the other team. Also he is one of the few champs i know that can beat a riven in lane.. actually he is her biggest counter :) hope this helped

First, don't build BotRK. Gunblade is way better on him. Second, just get good at him. I use to be able to do that with him and the matter of it is purely "He is extremely strong, you just don't know how to harness it."

You can't use Q,W, and E in every trade in lane, or you'll run out of mana. Learn which ones to use when, by looking at the numbers and by trial and error.

TriForce, BORK, and Gunblade can all help you snowball, depending on the lane matchup and the patch.

If you're low level, people don't understand your E, so use that advantage to win early trades.

Jax Basic Jax Guide 101:Jax

summoner 14 summoner 4 are best. summoner 12 summoner 6 is good if you plan on splitpushing all game.

First point in E, Then W second, Q third. Max W, Then Q, Then Ult, Then E.

Starting: item 1054 item 2003 item 3340 Almost always start Doran's Shield 1x Health Pot and a Warding Trinket.

When it comes to what you build first, lots of different Jax mains have different opinions. I prefer to rush Blade of the Ruined King over Triforce for the Sustain, the slow, and the attack speed.

Core:item 3078 item 3153 item 3111 /item 3047 item 3068 Trinity force, Blade of the Ruined King, Tabi/Merc Treads(Depends on their team/your team),Sunfire(Honestly, a staple on almost all top champs imo. Almost all, not all)

Situationals:

Damage: Gunblade, Black Cleaver, BloodThirster

Tanky: Randuins, Spirit Visage, Frozen Heart(Works rather well since you rely on dueling, lowers their DPS pretty good at later levels). You could also go Guardian Angel.

Tips:

When you're going to try to stun them, activate your E. Just before it would go off, Q(Leap) to them so that you get the stun then follow up with a empowered AA from your W. At that point, you can either keep going(If you feel you can actually kill them) or you can back off after dealing a decent ammount of damage.

A good poke is when you hit level 6, get your 2 AA's so your next one procs your ulti's passive. Then activate your W and Q to them and AA them once, that does quite a bit.
