The issue with Face of the Mountain.

Mid to late game, you will have some trouble to use your stacks due to the fact everyone oneshots minions or entire waves. It's frustating to spend the successive 20ish minutes of games using like 8 charges out of 40.

item 3401 [...] UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee Basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals you and the nearest allied champion for 50 (+1% of your maximum Health) and grants them kill Gold. [...]

I've always wondered why the HP execute function does not increase in the item's build path.

It would be better if they added GpS and reduced stacks by 1.

This would give tanky supp more gold, but also reduce their healing in lane(for me,the heal is one of the most frustraiting things when facing tanky supps)

[...] UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee Basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. 200 health *+ .5%level

Killing a minion heals you and the nearest allied champion for 50 (+1% of your maximum Health) and grants them kill Gold. [...]

However I would like to point out that the sustain granted from that item path during the laning phase, is more than enough to negate most if not all of the harass, turning it into a battle of attrition, where you will probably lose by default first, if you spend too much mana to poke with.

I agree with this, the damage of your teammates late game makes it way harder to heal them with the passive

Why not make the execute scale with levels and %max hp? That would solve every problem.

So I was playing around last night as tank graggy support and noticed something that might help you out with this issue. The passive is actually two statements/effects, both dependent on having a charge. The first effect is the obvious "Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health." However if you read the second half of the statement "Killing a minion heals you and the nearest allied champion for 50 (+1% of your maximum Health) and grants kill Gold." You will notice that it does not state that EXECUTING a minion grants the heal and gold. I decided to test this out, and found that as long as your allies are near by they will still receive the gold and heal, which allowed for interesting barrel tricks. Of course each charge can only trigger off of a single minion, however you are able to trigger the second half of the passive at range with abilities, just not the execute. I hope this helps you gents (or ladies) and happy supporting!

Maybe change the passive of the item to...

item 3401

[...] UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee Basic attacks execute minions below 200 350 (+1% of your maximum heath) Health. Killing a minion heals you and the nearest allied champion for 50 (+1% of your maximum Health) and grants them kill Gold. [...]

Maybe I'm over-exaggerating it a bit but then again this change could benefit better last hitting on support more effectively late game.

Honestly, I think Thresh being unable to proc the execute is the only problem. I'm sure some other ranged-supports might pick it up if they removed the melee restriction, but it doesn't seem like it would break the item or make its popularity skyrocket (except on Thresh). If Thresh pokes the enemy, he loses his Flay stacks and therefore does far less basic attack damage while trying to last hit making it pointlessly more difficult. It just seems like an unfair trade off to have to choose between getting an easy last hit on that cannon minion to share the gold, or poke that nosey Braum and when you hit that minion it barely survives and gets killed by another (resulting on 0g and an annoyed ADC that will never trust you to last hit again). Try it in PBE, rito plz?

Totally agree, albeit this might make tanky support gold income (That's a mouthful) incredibly powerful and make them walls of meat late game. Which might be good or it might throw the balance out of wack.

agree, another option would be allowing spells to execute aswell with it(on face of the mountain, not relic or targons), so this items helps u with waveclear later on. I think haveing it trigger only from AAs still wouldn't help to much, especially in a sieging situsation, as u want to clear waves as fast as posible from as far away as posibble, so ther still wouldn't be a minion reaching AA range for any melee support.

OP vs super minions?
