Level 24 noob playing with level 30 friends needs help!

Hi! My friends from school got me hooked on League of Legends and I can honestly say that this is the funnest game I have ever played! Once I got into the 20's, my friends from school finally allowed me to play consistently in all of their games (They are level 30's). It's really fun to play with my friends and all, but I don't really play that well when I play with them. It seems like every time I lane, I feed! Every time I jungle or support, I get yelled at for not buying wards, using my trinkets wrong (I love trinkets btw) or just being a bonehead. Maokai is awesome, I also really like Aatrox and Brand, but even though I do fairly good when I play as these champs in regular games without my friends, whenever I play them with my friends I mostly get steam-rolled. I really love playing with my friends, but now I am just worried that they wont want to play with me anymore. I try playing against bots and by myself, but I keep making the same mistakes with my friends, is there any other way for me to improve?

If your friends yell at you because you don't do well I suggest finding new friends.

With that said, the only way to improve at the game is play. There is a lot of things that go into how well you play and it's not only raw skill, it might as well be the pressure that your friends put on you that cause you to play worse than usual.

Good friends would help you learn the game instead of yelling at you.

I'll just copy what I once posted as to how to get better (if I can find it) Found it

Well first of all don't be hard on yourself. You played 30 ranked games and what ~150 normal games? That's nothing in a competitive game. You get better with practice and you don't have enough practice to be good, chill, comes with time and experience.

There are TONS of videos and guides that will tell you how to get better, I don't feel like finding videos so I will link you the league "learning" channels that I am subbed to.

  1. League lectures
  1. Gbay99
  1. Trico the tester
  1. TiensiNoAkuma
  1. Stonewall008

IMO all great channels. Worth checking out.

I also recommend downloading lolreplay. Record your games and then analyze them, analyze your mistakes and what you could have done better, because there is always something you could have done better.

Go to twitch and watch the high elo players play, try to learn from them, even if they don't talk they definitely can show how it's done.

There are a lot more resources that I didn't link but that you can easily find if you look for them.

It will come to you with time, but there are always plenty of guides to read if you're willing. Honestly it doesn't sound like you're any worse than any other first-time player at level 24. Your friends are dragging you in with other level 30s and expecting you to do well, and they are being unfair.
