Community's Opinions On Quinn and Valor

Quinn A personal favorite champion of mine, and the very beginning of the hype train of champ releases for me. Ever since we got the first look at the concept art for Quinn I have been incredibly hyped for her. And even until right now, whenever I get an AD carry (Or as the young'ns call "marksman") I pick her.

But I am curious about the community's opinion on her as a champion.

Everything I have seen on Quinn has been relating that she is underpowered, primarily referring to her ultimate being very lackluster in teamfights, which is undeniable, but what are the community's thoughts on her as a champion? What do you think about her play patterns? What do you view as Quinn's strengths and weaknesses? If all AD Carries were equal, when would you want Quinn on your team?

To reduce clutter, I will post my own opinions in the comments.

EDIT: After seeing a few posts here, something that I want to say. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT QUINN'S BALANCE. People are saying that she is relatively weak balance-wise right now. I understand that. What I am looking for is your opinions on Quinn AS A CHAMPION. I am curious about people's opinions on when Quinn is strong, what she excells at and when you would rather have Quinn than any other champion, not improvements you would make to her or what buffs you would like to see.

Quinn capitalizes on picking off solo targets and fighting in 1v1 situations, which makes her an extremely powerful pick in solo queue.

However, in team situations IE LCS and Ranked 5v5, her power to pick off stragglers drops off significantly.

She's actually really, REALLY strong. She doesn't need direct buffs per se, but QoL changes.

My list

  1. Passive Timer
  2. Fix bugs on Vault not marking enemies with Harrier
  3. Do SOMETHING about the cooldowns on Tag Team, Quinn and Valor aren't even the same champion, why do they share cooldowns..?

She's decent anywhere other then botlane. Play her as an assassin mid or a bruiser top and she will wreck.

To me, Quinn plays very differently than other AD Carries because of her passive, Harrier. WHICH IS A GOOD THING. When she has a harrier proc on her opponent, the damage potential of an AA->E->AA combo is simply too high, on levels of Draven high damage. Being able to manipulate Val into targeting enemy champions I feel is an incredibly undervalued skill on Quinn, and I feel people don't spend enough time learning how Val interacts with champions and minions.

Anyway, what do I view as Quinn's strengths and weaknesses? Quinn's greatest weakness in my opinion is mages. Quinn has very little response to mages except "don't get hit by the burst", which is fine, but her low range... makes that very difficult. Quinn however I feel excells in Jungle pressure and fighting auto-attackers. And by auto-attackers I mean both AD carries and especially diving bruisers. Quinn's ult makes it that Quinn should ALWAYS be the first to respond when the junglers find themselves in either jungle, and her blind is insanely strong against people who want to stand and hit her, especially those with predictable movements.

So when would I want Quinn on my team? When I already have a strong teamfight and I need more "presence" on the map. If she is manipulating Harrier properly, Quinn is passively pushing lane slightly, and her ult allows incredible ability to respond to situations across the map. However in teamfights Quinn ends up having to play very scared until the end, often kiting the divers in human form for the majority of the fight, before trying to hunt down survivors with ult. So in my opinion a team like Rumble ,LeeSin ,Kayle ,Sona would be when you would want Quinn.

I feel like Quinn is in an... odd place right now. She's one of my favorite champions. I had over 100 games as her last season, with about a 55% winrate. But I can't get anything done as her anymore. I feel that all her problems lie in Valor. Valor is when she is most useful, it basically turns her into Master Yi for 20 seconds. But thats exactly the problem. During Tag Team, Quinn is basically Yi during Highlander, except that she doesn't have the tools to survive melee range. Of course, if you are completely 1v1, most of the problems are eliminated. But its incredibly rare that you catch a carry out when the game revolves around supports and tanks protecting them. And when that support or tank is there, Quinn can't do what she needs. She is incredibly vulnerable to CC of any kind, and oftentimes the steroid from Tag Team just isn't enough. It doesn't help that Skystrike is fairly weak and its nearly impossible to predict the damage it will do.

These are Quinn QoL buffs I feel are completely needed:

Passive - shows timer until Valor will mark someone again, so I won't get that thing where harrier doesn't mark someone because you recently used vault

E - Cannot be hit by Voli Q or Singed E during vault (the fact that this hasn't been done already pisses me off to no end)

R - Cooldown begins when ult starts, not when you use skystrike (this effectively reduces the cooldown by 20 if you use tag team for the full duration)

Skystrike damage changed to 100/150/200 (+.5 bonus AD), increasing by 1.33% for every 1% health missing, capping at 100% increased damage on targets with 75% or more missing health (so I can predict the damage it will deal)
