The new heimer changes are upsetting at best, gut wrenching at worst.

Let's start by addressing why I'm frustrated with the new changes, to start; He has roughly the same win rate as Wukong / Leona, both very strong picks but nothing too game breaking: http://www.lolking.net/charts?region=all&type=champion-winrate&range=daily&map=sr&queue=1x1

What annoys me is that after his visual rework, pitch forks were raised and everyone wants to see Heimer get nerfed, however the change also gave him one single buff: HP scaling with AP and a beam rework essentially. While I love these changes it saddens me to see that you are gutting out around 400-500 damage, it shows that you are only catering to Assassin based champions.

Heimerdinger naturally counters assassins and that's the meta these days, the reason why players think he's too strong is due to the fact that they constantly attack him while he's under his nest of 3 turrets with beams charged. This proves to be a problem as players will naturally dive him given the chance even if it's not an ideal chance.

My change is simple and does not warrant nerfing his damage values as honestly, for once I don't feel like Heimer is the one holding me back, I have made the top guide for heimer and played him since season 2, to say my mechanics needs work or some other portion is unfair. Since his buff I've raised all the way to Gold 1 from Gold 4. That tells you something about his current balance state. He doesn't have enough potential. His item scaling sucks. After grabbing Zhonyas his item scaling goes down the drain, Zhonyas and Sorcs seems to be the only items to provide impact other than Liandries.

If you want to gut his damage by that much then SEVERLY, increase his scaling, by almost double. Why? Simple. Punish players who dive into his nest. But put up more flags, when heimers turrets are charged, I want a giant ! above his turret as big as heimer so the enemy knows to stay away from it. I even want it so you can see where the turrets overlap as an enemy so if they decide to dive me, they know where to avoid. This creates counterplay and allows melee champions to act more tactically while facing me.

If you show where his turrets overlap, you wont need to change his damage at all because that opens up counterplay and shows players they are doing a constant mistake with trying to dive wrecklessly into him.

The way I see it is since Season 2 you guys have thrown him into dumpster tier and I've had enough. I'm near my limit as to how much I can deal with Heimer being pushed into hell and being unable to do anything to better myself because the champion holds me back. It's unfair that riven, lee sin, renekton all have easier mechanics than heimer but heimer has the least scaling potential. It's unfair to me that when I play skillfully as heimer that the best I can do is a double kill rather than the penta I should be getting if I had the same skillset on another champion.

To put things into perspective, it's gotten to the point where I can unload my whole skill set, drop all 3 turrets, grenades rockets; big one; zhonyas and only manage a double because I don't have enough damage or health to sustain for a third champion even though they were all mid health and had no summoners left with cooldowns.

Personally I would love more visual indicators on his turrets, and giving increased damage after that addition would make perfect sense.

That and the scaling I can get behind. (I'm also assuming you mean scaling on just the turrets, correct me of I'm wrong) I'm always afraid to support heimy buffs simply because his laning behavior is just not fun to play against by nature, but increases to his turret damage after laning would be a great thing, as during my very very few games with him I find it very difficult to set up an effective 'nest' during grouping phase. whether that's a general point or simply my inexperience I have no idea.

I find that even though turrets are Heimy's unique thing and can be used very well in the right hands I also think it's the most frustrating part of his kit, just as Zyra's plants are. Anything put into the hands of AI targeting can be very very annoying if they don't do exactly what you want to do. Luckily for Zyra she can stand on her own at least somewhat well, Heimy however I feel has so much power put into his turret's beam now it's an awful feeling when they miss, or when the basics hit a tank. All imho of course.

Also, gratz on the Gold I btw. Wish you luck on your plat promos good sir!

I wasn't into Heim until the rework before this one. You know. The one where they made him HeimerDeity. I don't have a ton of experience with him, but I liked him much better before this update. His VU is AWESOME, mind you, I love every single bit of that freaking glorious VU. But I feel like he's been brought WAY too far back down. I would have supported a small nerf, he was rather terrifying to go against, especially early with the crazy numbers from his turrets... But this nerf was a little much. My first words playing him with the most recent update were "Hmm. Turrets don't seem to do much anymore. Rest in peace, Heim."

Well, there is one thing. You may not consider Heimerdinger to be in the best place right now, but remember that he's basically god tier as a support. Those beams make it the easiest thing in the world to deny farm to the enemy adc. I know, I was just on the receiving end of it. Also, your little perpective at the end is no big deal. There are quite a few champs who can't get a triple in that situation. It shouldn't be easy to grab a penta.

@20thCenturyFaux

Hoppefully we can get a response from the man responsible for his rework
