Heimerdinger Frustrations

Screamin Banshee·11/4/2013, 4:25:59 AM·1 votes·624 views

Just wondering if anyone else is finding the new heimerdinger just as frustrating as the old one?

Just places 3 turrets and sits there and pushes the lane. You try to walk in and farm get clobbered by long range nuke shots on the turrets, his e and his q. Or sit there and get no xp and farm then get poked under tower while he uses e and takes nothing in return.

Or am i just missing something? Anyone have any ideas on how to counter play the matchup

Actually, as an avid lover of Heimerdinger even prior to the update, I've always found that Heimerdinger has a weakness in being squishy, and gap-closers and escape champs can counter him, as well as tanky damage dealers like Darius. Heimer's strength lies in being NOT at the center of attention. Bringing him to the center of the action will get him crushed like most squishy mages. Bursters are very good against him. Someone like perhaps Zed could take down a heimerdinger pretty well. or Fizz. In short, assassins and tanks. That'll do the trick. :) As an added note, the bruiser/assassin that is used in taking down heimer should probably not be the same champion laning against him, since it would just be easier to catch him off guard that way. But, honestly, a Zed should be able to handle Heimerdinger. I would think. o.o

As someone who felt that the old Heimer was annoying as hell to lane against I think the changes to the new one make the lane a lot more active.

As was pointed out by others his turrets are a lot easier to kill which should make your lane a bit more mobile and reduce his pushing power, if however you feel that you are getting poked down to much and end up pushed to tower heimer is VERY susceptible to ganks and anytime he pushes in with turrets you can expect a very easy kill with any jungle intervention.

If you're looking for some tips and tricks for laning against him Ill include some below.

Tips and Tricks vs new Heimer

All of his abilities now have skill shot aspects to them, this means you can take less damage then he dishes with quick movement and smart micro control.

His turrets shoot out a lazer, you can see when the lazer is charged on the turret by tracking the bar, either move away so the lazer can attack minions when it is charged, or move sideways as the lazer fires at you to avoid it.

His missiles shoot in an X pattern over where his cursor is pointed, assuming he isnt bad you will be the center of the X, the solution is simple, move sideways and try and avoid it. OR If you keep getting hit by them, use it as a time to engage and move forward into it. You'll take less damage then if you were at the epicenter.

His big orb thing shouldnt really be a problem, its super easy to dodge, the most I can say is avoid it ...

Now then, his ult is where he gets strong (I guess like most champs?)

His ultimate basically empowers one of his abilities. His next turret is really big, and really strong. Literally just walk away if he puts that shit down, it hits like a tower.

His missiles will basically just be quadrupled, dodge and try to not be at the center.

His stun radius is increased in his orb, its not that much probably wont see him using this part much.

So basically now that you know his abilities, if you're an aggresive laner go balls deep before level 6 avoiding his stun, after 6 go balls deep and avoid the big turret.

If you're a passive laner wait for a gank, kill his turrets and poke from behind minions.

Voila, hope this helped.

I've noticed that the new heimer turrets pull the strengths and weakness's of the old turrets more towards the extremes. While they do more damage -partially due to the fact that there is 3 now- they are also much easier to kill. This makes him much more of a counterpick to melee's, and less of a counterpick to some mages.

This way you don't have two players just staring at eachother in lane afk farming for 15 minutes.

Most assassins now will have a hard time dealing with the harrass, but mages like malzahar can more easily kill the turrets and avoid a stale lane.

Still quirky, but more managable

I think that him being aloud 3 turrets at the same time from level 1 is unbalanced and problematic.

And his Ult makes his rockets ridiculously strong.

I think they need to rework when he gets is 3rd turret (1/2/3/3/3 maybe?) and retune his ult/rockets. Otherwise I think he's fine.

I have to agree with the poster, heimerdinger is the most ridiculous champion in this game. Further more, everytime a rework to a champion happens anymore they become more and more unbeatable. to be honest this game in general is becoming less and less appealing. frustration has and is becoming more of the norm and the community is less fun to play with.

people win and talk shit, people lose and talk shit, the nerfs arent really nerfs at all the three bans on one side dont really even a fight. no one plays for the team unless you're at least platinum and its becoming even more impossible to get outta the lower leagues.

The problem is the game is so addictive that you cant even stop playing if you wanted to. Meh, im looking forward to the new blizzard MOBA perhaps with their legacy in games they can make something that works for the player.
