A thought for the ff@20 Addicts
As a League player of two years now, I've come across my fair share of wins and losses. I've had too short victories after steam rolling victims; hard fought losses where we all tried our damnest, and crushing defeats where one or more opponents returned the favor and sent us back to the stone age. That, and the occassia;, all out war that determined the game's victor via a few last men standing, with 10% of their HP remaining.
In those years, and casual, 700+ solo queue matches, I've learned a few things. For starters, I'm a mediocre player at best. You won't see me in ranked or competitive of any kind. My well rounded day consists of adding mastery points to my current pool of mains, and a bonus is in winning several matches. Cool.
The other thing I've learned, is that regardless of wins or losses, I play solo queue, so the only way to truly enjoy it is to see it through, win or loss. The only meaningful experience to garner, being as how I am not adding to a pool of Ranked Wins and seasonal streaks, is from the experience of each game, end of story.
You know what gets in the way of that experience? Players who slam the "ff@20" bat the second they get the chance, and get enraged when the rest of the team doesn't follow suit. Oh look, Enemy JG Master Yi just slaughtered bot, twice....in a row. Guess it's time to surrender. Oh goodie, mid got killed. ff at 20. Oh darn, top was up against a teemo and casually got bullied out of their lane and turrets via a stream of eggs, blinds, range, poison and AP damage. ff for sure.
Wait, what's that? Several people clicked NO on the surrender vote? How f###ing dare them! It is time to RAGE. How dare these ordinary, every day players, who want to enjoy the game, win or lose, click NO on your constant stream of surrender poles! Surely they must not understand that you own solo queue! Surely they're all morons who don't get that they'd win if they'd all stop being trash players and emulate your superior LoL skills!
Oh wait.
That's right. I just checked the licensing user agreement and nowhere does it mention your inherent ownership of when a "team" of random players follows your lead to surrender simply because you demanded they do so.
A suggestion, if a trash, casual, mediocre player may offer?
If you want to ff@20 every time you foresee a (potential) loss on the horizon, do yourself, and every other of millions of players a favor.
Stop being lazy, go get a five player stack going, who agree with your incessant need to constantly give up the second things look bad, and SURRENDER all you want on their time and dime!
A magnificent solution that benefits us all, regardless of skill, knowledge, devotion, team, or otherwise. This is not ranked. You're not better than anyone here, and if you were, you wouldn't be here. You'd be in ranked, showing the others just how superior you are. Instead, you're here, with the rest of the mediocre, sometimes average, rarely superior, players...in solo queue. Stop ff-ing@20, or find yourself a team of like minded ff@20 type players.
Thanks
