I was banned for flaming the champion Irelia and for wanting to kill an ADC as an assassin

Hey y'all, I wanted to share this email exchange I had with Riot support after being banned seemingly out of nowhere.

The first game they presented me is somewhat easy for me to understand as flame because I called an Akali who griefed me a "wh*re" (the Akali was banned for griefing and flaming but I shouldn't have called her that. I guess.)

Game 2 and 3 are a little more interesting though:

In Game 2 I called the champion Irelia "shit" and the r word because quite frankly she is just that. This is what I said in-game:

Onika Maraj: r%%%%%ed Onika Maraj: fucking%%%%% Onika Maraj: shit Onika Maraj: champ Onika Maraj: shit Onika Maraj: fucking Onika Maraj: shit Onika Maraj: champion Onika Maraj: literally who the fuck approved this pile of garbage shit champion Onika Maraj: she has been in this stage since launch Onika Maraj: literal garbage Onika Maraj: it' Onika Maraj: it's fucking disgusting how this shit champion snowballs no matter how safe you play in lane Onika Maraj: fuck her

Now, this is what support told me:

Even if you were referring to the champion in the game, the effect your behavior you had is that the players felt that these insults have been directed towards them, personally. This happened because you did not make your intentions clear, as in saying Ï hate the Irelia champion, not player.

They say I did not make it clear that I was talking about the champion? Hmm, okay, I guess I just said "champ" and "champion" four times because I meant the player who played Irelia.

In Game 3 I made a joke about Ezreal always being at home and playing the game ..... I GUESS it's toxic but it was supposed to be humorous and you can tell. I said:

[All]Onika Maraj: Ezreal don't you feel back when your parents are coming into your basement room and tell you "Please, Josef, get a job we cannot afford the electricity bill anymore. Turn that PC off. Please we didn't want a failure as a kid" [All]Onika Maraj: bad* [All]Onika Maraj: I was alt tabed [All]Onika Maraj: next time I fuck u up

I was killed by Ezreal while I was alt-tabbed. Note that I was playing Diana so it would only make sense for me to want to fuck up the enemy ADC, right? I got this response from Riot Support:

Extreme toxicity: [24:12] [All] Diana: Ezreal don't you feel back when your parents are coming into your basement room and tell you "Please, Josef, get a job we cannot afford the electricity bill anymore. Turn that PC off. Please we didn't want a failure as a kid" Depicting a picture in which the player is doing nothing but play League of Legends and insulting him for it is a very negative way to act. This behavior is unacceptable. [29:27] [All] Diana: next time I fuck u up This can be seen as a real threat towards the player targeted.

I am being told that "next time I fuck u up" is A REAL THREAT towards I player on the enemy team who I do not know, who I did never ever interact with again. I am a bit confused because they are making it seem like you can't complain about broken champions ingame anymore and apparently you can also not express your desire to fuck up an ADC when you're playing an assassin anymore. Thoughts?

What's ironic is that Irelia is a toxic champion anyway.

I honestly can't blame you for flaming the champion. Although the rules say that not to be toxic on the players, but nowhere does it say to not be toxic about champions.

Even boards rules is all "be respectful to players, mods and rioters," and nothing about the champion.

It doesn't matter if he's unpleasant, I don't think you should be banned because people lack reading comprehension. I had a guy report me the other day because I said "Uh.. it would help if I landed my stun" and he thought I said "It would help if you landed your stun". That's not on me, that's on him.
