Is it better to Sacrifice a Tower than to feed if my team doesn't help me?

I had a matchup as garen against swain on top lane. The entire game my team saw me struggling and didn't bother to help. I requested a gank and master yi ended up getting greedy and went under the enemy tower while only being lvl 5 and died? Afterwards I got no help at all while the enemy team was constantly ganking me when I even dared to step foot near halfway on top lane. I was denied pretty much all my cs and if I tried to farm I was just be attacked by swain then ganked again. Towards the end my entire team kept being toxic saying I fed and im garbage, uninstall game ect.

In that matchup I had 2 choices. Either try to get CS and Feed or Let them take a tower so my team can react, atleast I hope they will. Swain ended up carrying the whole game with 19/1/3. What should I do if im in that position again?

If you die, they'll get the tower anyway, yes? There's no point in staying, then :p

Contest objectives when you can, but when you're forced away from them, don't die trying to save an objective that's gonna fall either way.

Better to give up the tower, than to die And give up tower. If your team mates are being asses just focus on your lane and survival. Mute them all, and report next time.

Let the tower fall, it creates a longer lane and reduces their kill pressure. Swain will have to overextend or rotate to another lane (where he'll have to share EXP, and hopefully team fighting will go better)

HOWEVER no-one in your team probably thought anything like this, so I'm not agreeing with them. It's also completely wrong to harass you over a videogame. Have a good rest of your day man.

Don't try to defend towers you can't hold because you'll die and they'll still take the tower.

Also, you probably should have gotten an early item 3155 before your BC because you gave swain 3 of his first 4 kills by 8 minutes. Gotta learn how to play like a bitch and slowly come back. Just farm under tower and focus on CS and not feeding. You had given the other guy an 800 or so gold lead from your deaths alone. Why did you think you could contest anything if you were behind and his team was trying to snowball him?

Garen's a melee champ who really doesn't have many tools for outplaying the other guy. In fact, why the bleep did you get a black cleaver? The other team was 2 assassins, twitch, karma, and an AP champ who literally built no armor. There is no reason to rush a cleaver in those circumstances. It did not help you survive. It did not help you CS. You knew you were laning against a fed AP champ and yet you wasted time and gold getting something that was absolutely useless in that situation.

When crap happens, you have to switch up both how you build and how you play.

Also, if you are struggling don't expect your team to help you. One of the first things junglers learn is to only gank lanes that'll win them the game.
