Funny i can't find a place to put a reply on said patch notes themselves.

Wait what?

...oh my god, it's true. What the fuck Riot? I refuse to visit your horribly "designed" website just to read about more buffs to already broken characters. It's like they want us to go and read them from different sources.

And the worst part of this shit? We will never know WHY they did it.

Well.. you see... in Korea they have a separate pc for each of the 5 monitors they have. They also have high performance PC's in Gaming Cafes.

I play on a laptop... so yes Im very frustrated when they add things that require more power.

Did you think that maybe something went wrong? Also, if your computer is so bad that you cant open a tab.....how are you playing League? I mean, you sound like you are playing on a Nintendo 64. I mean...I have an old ThinkPad from like....2003 that can run chrome with three tabs.

Also, try to not immediately rage?

They couldn't handle the criticism.

Because, according to my lobbies, nobody reads patch notes anyway.

In case anyone was truly wondering why they removed them, it was to bring more traffic into their website, as it can and is used as another data gathering tool for more purposes than I can think of on the spot.

But data gathering and data mining are very real things, and while they can already do that with the client, they want to also do it on the website as I'm sure their data shows they make more sales from someone visiting their website vs someone on their client (I'm guessing).

Now I'm not a rocket scientist, but additionally, depending on what language League of Legends is written in, and whether or not itself stores data, it would be significantly easier to mine for data from a website database that was written on a more powerful language like SQL.

Just a guess

the patch notes ARE on the client, maybe do some research

Zutyro1/23/2020, 4:49:32 PM1 votes

I don't get it either. I think there's just been some mistake.

First i thought they removed it since the patch didnt go live yesterday as it should have

If you noticed, they updated the way the patch notes page is structured and how it looks. Incorporating it into the client was probably on the bottom of the todo list because you can if fact just open the web version. I would expect to see it either hotfixed in, or coming next patch.

So I think I found out how to open the patch notes:

  • When opening the Client right now, it should open you up on the MECHA-Kingdoms Tab.
  • Click the Overview tab & there should be a box that says Patch 10.2 Notes.
  • Clicking it opens up a tab in your Web Browser that takes you to Leagues Website (which has been redesigned completely) with the patch notes.

Now if someone at Riot can explain why removing the feature to read the notes WITHOUT opening my web browser, that would be most appreciated. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/5/52/Grouchy_Emote.png/revision/latest?cb=20171120231817

It was taking up too much gig. They're trying to reduce lag.
