No ranked 5s is the stupidest thing I've ever heard

So me and my friends have always enjoyed playing this game together as a 5s team and ranking up together. We've created a couple incarnations of our team in various seasons but we decided to come back after a 2 year absence to find that APPARENTLY it just doesn't exist anymore. Instead you have flex queue. Which is fine. That is until we won most of our games and guess what? 4 of us were placed in high silver and for some ungodly reason one of us got placed Plat 5.

So NOW we just apparently can't play together. I have no idea why it is necessary to restrict tiers for whatever reason. Why even pointlessly invent a new queue to replace 5s when you're not going to let us play together.

BUT IT GETS BETTER. So now the ONLY WAY to get to play together is for the 4 of us to rank separately in flex queue aallllll the way to gold, except no because then when we play as 5 again we're still a full tier apart and he'll rank up above us again. OH and also WE CAN'T EVEN RANK AS 4. So we'd literally have to spend dozens and dozens of hours ranking separately from one another JUST TO PLAY TOGETHER. Which is bullshit and something I don't want to do.

So congrats riot the most efficient option is for him to purposefully throw games until he deranks closer to us. Or to purchase a smurf account. And you wonder why your game is toxic
