/dev: State of Ranked

"First, adding Iron and Grandmaster tiers introduced a bug that allowed a nontrivial number of players—up to 155 on one server—to get to Grandmaster despite having a win rate below 40%. Another related bug allowed some Diamond players to climb to higher ranks than they should’ve been able to." Why should win rate be involved? How does it relates to rank games?, shouldn't a rank game be balanced, not influenced by (Riot). "climb to higher ranks than they SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO". Riot knows everything apparently. they know what you will eat tomorrow.

What are you even arguing?

Winrate matters here because when the season started, there was a bug and people were getting like +30wins and -6lp losses because their MMR was inflated.

Most high elo players want this change, and like it.

The bug was giving people WAY more LP than they should have been getting for each game, thus allowing them to climb to a rank they didn't deserve. And yes, win rate does have something to do with your rank. Typically, if your winrate is a whole 10% below average then you probably don't belong at whatever rank you're at...

Because a bad winrate should mean low LP gains and high LP losses. And it didn't do this. So it was a bug that made people climb for no reason with terrible winrates.

why do you think you should climb if you lose 70% of your games
