Punishment for toxicity

I still to this day don't understand why an account can be banned for being toxic in chat. Oh wait, I do. Riot is run by the marketing division. It would super easy to implement a permanent chat restriction or a downright permaban from using chat. But they won't because they know we'll just make a new account and keep throwing money at them when we realize how horrible the champion grind is.

Lemme explain why I am pissed at this. A year ago I was a dumb*ss and got my main account banned for being repeatedly toxic through all the punishments I got. for a full year before my account got banned I was stuck in honor 0 after being banned for two weeks and was trying really hard to reform. A year later I got a guy running down my lane and snapped. 5 minutes later my account is permabanned.

That's not why I am pissed. I am pissed because recently I erroneously thought that accounts could be reinstated after seeing some screenshots online that people did. I believed I had a good case (since I wasn't THAT toxic in the game that got me permabanned) so I sent a support ticket asking very politely if that could be done for me. They told me (very politely also) that sadly it wasn't possible, that it was an old program that they dropped.

So here I am, thinking to myself "I just lost the ability to play a game where I spent close to 500$ over 5 years in an account that I will never be able to access again." and it just feels so damn sad.

I got an addictive personality so I know that I'll keep playing this game and being tempted to spend money on it. But at this point, I stopped asking myself why does riot keep trying to alienate and fuck its player base over. They could have looked at the toxicity problem and fixed it with a permanent ban from using chat, but that's just not how riot operates sadly.

I am not toxic anymore btw. I reformed. But this frustrates me to no end.

So, you are complaining that you can't be toxic in chat? So you think that you can make total strangers (who usually are also losing in some way) feel worse? So you think that you should be able to hurt the bottom line of a company, which I should add let you play for free their game? So you think that you are entitled to ignore the contract (e.g., the Summoners Code and Player Code of Conduct) which allows you to play the game? And on top of all that, you think that you can breach that contract and get away with it?

Look if you are one of those who says "gg ez" at the end of the game to an opponent (because it makes you feel good), or, alternatively, if you are a person that puts down teammates because you can't accept it's a team-win or team-loss, then you don't get any sympathy from me. Sorry.

Gimme a break. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

a) They tested a "perma chat restriction", it went HORRIBLY. The toxic players, frustrated by the fact that they were unable to vent their frustration "verbally" just started to do much worse things.

b) I hope you are speaking out of anger and you don't actually believe that bunch of nonsense. If you truly thinks that banning account is "good for Riot, cause they can milk more money from the banned players" you are out of your mind.

My main was banned as well.

This, my alt, has been honor level 5 for a while and my now new alt is well on its way. I haven't spent much on the game since my ban, and would probably be inclined to spend more on skins for my main since that already has 200$ or so in skins. I got banned for two games. One, for the zero-tolerance phrase, and since that put me on thin ice, then my second for telling someone to shut the f-word up. Both games had around 5 lines of chat from me max and were in response to bullies. I learned from my mistake, am a nice guy, and people like playing with me in game. But I still disagree with my ban and forever will.
