Lets Please Address the Issue with SSG Icons in the Store...
Specifically, the issue with how all SSG Icons cost 890 RP because you are also paying for a Border, that in many cases (mine included) people don't want.
What bothers me most is that you actually have an option to buy several bundles containing each SSG Skin, its Icon, and its Border:
Its just nonsense to not have an option to buy the SSG Icons alone, you're literally paying more for a Border that many won't probably use, and if someone was buying it for the sake of using the Border, that's exactly why the SSG Bundles Exist!
What I find interesting about this, is that we're just about done with the VS. Event, and during so, 2 Icons ended up getting some attention because they were only available through a Bundle, instead of sold separately.
This made a few people upset on the matter, and as such, they complained about it here on the Boards: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/TRWEEQcm-unironically-fuck-you-for-doing-something-this-scummy You can have your own opinion on whether or not it was right to do so, but regardless, the end result was that Riot eventually made these 2 Icons available for purchasing in the store separately.
So how come literally a patch later, they end up creating the same issue again? Only this time its completely inexcusable and pointless;
- Players who are fans of SSG clearly have the option to buy everything, Skin, Border, and Icon
- Bundles give discounts based on what you already own, thus making it inexcusable to have the Icon + Border option because you'd get the discount anyways when affording the Bundle even if you bought the Skin beforehand
- Players that just really liked Xayah's Icon, or players who want to buy the very first Taliyah Icon, have to pay extra for something that they won't use unless they bought the Skin, that in this case, would be the same as buying the Bundle Instead
Could we please get some response from Rioters on this issue? Its concerning because Team Skins aren't available for long, and we have no clue if these Icons will be available ever again, the clock is ticking, and for now, players like me have no option to buy the Icons alone, and there's no clear reason why.
