Ranked Question: moving to China from the US

so i am moving to teach kids English in china for a year soon. It is my understanding that they use a completely different server system over there and thus it is not even possible to transfer my account over there. Is there anyway to put my account on hold as far as my rank is concerned to keep my gold status so i get the rewards at the end of the season? (yes I am only silver 1 right now but I want to know if its worth wasting time trying for gold if I will just demote out of it by the end of the season for inactivity)
