TFT is garbage and the Devs of the game jumped ship

First time to the discussion boards, but I am a long time player of League.

It is in my humble opinion that the devs jumped ship with LOL and tried to distract everyone from everything that is going on with this TFT nonsense. (Distractions being that they treat employees unfairly, the balance team has no clue what they are doing, etc.. Example of them not giving a shit is evident in how they handled top lane Pyke).

TFT as a standalone game is fine in and of itself. I don't believe that riot making a new game is bad. I personally don't think it is fun, but that is just my opinion. What I find annoying, is that their flagship game had holes in it that they have been slapping bandaids on. New champions and reworks as bandaids, as opposed to making significant and meaningful change that is well thought out. This game isn't about balance. It has become a cash grab and it is evident. The hundred new skins a month they release for champions that are overpowered or the most popular, while other champions have next to no skins and are laughable picks in competitive play. Meanwhile, they keep adding new champions and new game modes and new this and that. Polishing the proverbial turd that is League of Legends. Not only that, but they also continue to gouge players by increasing skin costs and making a loot system that is just a black hole for attempting to get the skins. It's basically gambling. They got rid of Grave's cigar because it promoted tobacco, and they are promoting gambling in an alternate form. It makes no sense.

This company has become a joke and I just wish they would stop ruining a game that used to be good. A game that was free to play. A game where someone's favorite champions didn't get nerfed to the ground or overbuffed to the point of being banned every single game. I also hate that they added Grandmasters. All it does is trick the bottom percentage of players who are in gold four to make the believe they actually belong there. I'd rather have silver one attached to my name if that is where I belong. A free skin each season doesn't make up for the garbage they expect us to accept from something that used to be great. I can see the difference in quality. I'm just so disappointed in consistent letdowns that have been League of Legends. I don't even try to win anymore. I'm just so down about the game I barely can stand to play. To the point where I felt I was obligated to take a stand in the discussion boards. (I've never made a complaint on a discussion board in my life).

Still, I'm anxious to know if anyone else feels this way. Maybe I'm just being a whiner, but I've seen a lot of stuff on Youtube from my favorite content creators about the same thing. Not to mention some of my favorite content creators gave up on league long ago. I'm interested in feedback from the other players. Even trolls are welcome. LOL wouldn't be complete without the toxic wild beasts that live on the rift.

What does everyone else think?

I've only been playing for a few months, but I do have to agree that quite a few champs are gathering dust because of buffs and new champs. A few victims that come to mind, rare as unicorns are Alistar Gangplank Graves Viktor Singed

????

Teamfight Tactics hasn't changed League of Legends AT ALL.

It's an entirely different game with different rules and balance mechanics. It just uses the same characters and is in the same client.

You don't have to like or even play TFT if you don't want to.

Good news is the game is repairable and not far from being great

Bad news is it’s evident that the current management is preventing the right changes. Whether it’s greed or incompetence it’s not clear to me. I have the same thing happening at my company (Philips Healthcare). There are plenty of checks (metrics) on low level employees like me but there is absolutely no accountability on upper management. As long as costs go down they will just keep driving the ship into the ground until a competitor swallows them up.

It’s especially sad and sobering reality to say this game was so close to competing with traditional sports imo and who knows how long it’ll be until something approaches this level of hype/quality. The hype is dwindling and the quality has consistently been flat.

They pay well and have a great benefits package to boot. Oh, wait, none of the people bitching on the boards actually have anywhere near the skill with statistics and analytics to do any better than Riot?

TFT is 100% flawless.

  1. People getting 2 3-stars by 2-5? You still have Tier 1's at 1 star by 3-6? Get Good.
  2. People getting all the AtkSpeed Items while all you get is gold or MagicRes/Armor? Get Good.
  3. Cant avoid your whole team getting stunned for 4 seconds/indefinetly by Pyke or Sejuani ? Get Good!
  4. Ashe and Braum 2 glacial combo perma freezing your team? Just get Good! Simple ezpz flawful game mode.

First of all I would like to welcome you to the boards and would like to thank you for constructing a post that encourages discussion rather than just whining.

To be honest I am in the same boat as you. I have been playing this game since the release of Ekko in season 5 and I honestly used to love this game. I remember being able to try out new builds without being called a troll every 5 seconds and a time where smurfs didn't run rampant in solo queue.

Although I personally don't personally enjoy TFT nearly as much as Summoners Rift, its a good change of pace from time to time and helps me take a break from ranked whenever I get tilted. I agree with you that Riot has been losing touch with its player base more and more over the years with no intention of recovering it.

Riot has been continuously pushing new content (Skins, Chromas, Orbs, Emotes, Boarders, etc.) and people are eating it up. About 2 years I personally vowed not to purchase anything in store again because I did not want to support their money hungry behavior. As much as I want this game to flourish, I know the state of the game is going downhill and It is only going to get worse.

Im with you on this one bud, but I doubt there is much we can do on our owns to save the game we once loved.

Alistar was never meant to be tank tank, he suppose to be a ultility tank,

hence

summoner 4 behind enemy lines, W the adc while ult is activated, and Q the rest ,Die=he did his job
