I read the dust review and obviously know we should reroll or DE champion shards before the update but what about orange essence stuff? I figured we were safe on it but the ingame notification simply says to get rid of our "shards" which describes all of them, so I'm a bit worried since I have a lot of skin shards hoarded*[sg-janna]*

If your goal is to maximize the amount of dust you get before the change, yes. All shards will give less dust after the transition. That includes the good orange stuff
You could also try and reroll to see if you get some good shit. Risky though

After preseason we'll get more skin shards per box and have bad luck protection (you'll always get a skin every few boxes), which is why they're reduced the amount of essence they're worth. So if you're not gonna craft or reroll the ones you have disenchant them. Also hold off on opening any boxes until then if you want to get the most out of your keys.
