Rant: Mind your own business. Let people play the game how they want.

Last night, still bugging me, had a Shyvana quit on us early game. In Champ select before she picked her champ, we had a Teemo top... And she was like "Ugh please dont pick teemo, we need a tank.". Then top proceeded to pick teemo..... And then the gates of hell opened.

F*** you this, stupid dumb c*** that, this is why this game is getting ruined, people like you playing s*** champs. And went on and on about it. Teemo said- this is my best champ, so thats who im going to play. I then stepped in and said... (of course i was a little rude, was already somewhat tilted), "no this is why this game is getting ruined, self entitled people like yourself that think your team captain and get to pick what other get to play. This is a game and people get to play what they want within reason.".

Game starts, Shyv tries to invade without asking for any help, dies when top n mid collapse into a 1v3. Mind you its JarvanIV Jung, Viktor Mid, Malphite Top. With me as Karthus mid.

Shyv goes off about how our map awareness is crap and how we let her die. I said of course i did, i wasnt going to run into their jungle as a lvl 3, just to flash out and not die. This made her mad and she KEPT on flaming hardcore. Long story short, she kept on going off about how useless we all are, how after i got to lvl 7, i B'd and TPd back so i can keep the XP advantage on Vik, and how that was a useless TP. But she went 0-4 and just raged quit cause she couldnt 1v2 tower dive bot when they had half hp.

Typical silver stuff. But i was made into a better mood this morning when i seen the instant feedback report saying a player i recently reported was punished, so that made me happy :)

But where im going with this is- Before you judge people on what they play, you better make damn sure you have the skill to backup your own gameplay. Mind your own business and focus on your own game.

Blame eSports honestly. It's responsible for enforcing and reinforcing the notion that there is a correct and incorrect way to play the game. Which perhaps at their level there indeed is, but it's silly that we have the vast community trying to emulate professional idiosyncrasies, min/maxing, and efficiency when we all lack the ability to execute. For example, the pro scene determines that playing Champion X will result in a loss every game due to a set of very specific factors in the current meta, which may very well be true at their level. The community at large will then parrot that Champion X is unplayable, but the hyper-specific conditions under which Champion X is unplayable are not even present outside of the highest levels of competitive.

Someone needed to say it sooner or later.

It bugs me that you can't do something even Slightly off meta without getting questioned, and if you lose lane or don't do well, you can expect people will hold that against you, not the fact that a jungler ganked early on,setting you behind, or you were in a counter matchup, non of that matters apparently, because you picked that Kayn top, or Kog'maw mid, thats why your doing awful.

It bothers me to no end, for example, I have a pal that enjoys to do some off meta things with me (Hemier & Yorick bottom, Malz and Urgot Bottom) and it usually works out, but the times it dosent, its our fault for not picking what has been set in stone to be good and not good.

Its good to be able to sit back and enjoy games not working about people who belittle you for your pick, but unfortunately some people ruin it for everyone.

My account was perma banned cause I mind my own business and played however I wanted. My teams threw the game and reported me afterwards because I played how I wanted. I was perma banned trying to uphold the summoner's code.

How your allies play and what they pick is your business. It directly effects your experience same with enemies. You may not like it but people want to win while some other people want to practice. Game are played for fun but people think fun means that you can do what ever shit you want if so why is inting and flaming ban able people get fun from that too. This game is a competetive based game fun is supposed to come from the competition. People shouldnt get salty about it but pointing out why you lost shouldnt be classified as inherently salty either neither should telling people what needs to be done for a win.

There is something that bugs me that I notice all the time in Overwatch, and it seems to spread in one form or another to several other games like it: The defense of "It's just casual/quickplay/whatever laid back queue" is really annoying due to the fact that there's a difference between playing casually and playing improperly.

I see stuff like attack Widowmaker go one of two ways: Widowmaker never moves forward on the map until it's far too late to do so, or Widowmaker keeps up a similar amount of pressure as the rest of her team and keeps moving forward relative to her team. Same goes for things like attack Bastion, Symmetra, etc. I don't care that you want to play Widomaker on attack or Genji on defense, just please actually play the game instead of not contributing to the objective.

When I've got a team of Widowmaker/Hanzo/Ana and the payload is literally cruising nonstop through the map, you are part of the problem. This can apply to any variant of this problem. It's casual, yes, you don't need to "tryhard", yes, you should be having fun, yes, but you know what's fun? Actually winning the game.

Especially with the loot box progression craze that's gripped a lot of the gaming market ATM. If I get twice as much XP for winning then you better believe I'm gonna want to actually win the game. "Losing is Fun" only applies to Dwarf Fortress.
